    Supabase
    ABOUT SUPABASE

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

Supabase manages millions of Postgres instances and is growing. We have strong teams across observability, release engineering, and incident management — and we're concentrating our reliability efforts into a dedicated SRE practice that ties the discipline together across the platform.

You'll be embedded within Service Operations, and your primary job is to make every engineering team more reliable — not by owning their infrastructure, but by establishing the practices, frameworks, and feedback loops that let them own reliability themselves. You'll work across the org: sometimes setting the standard, sometimes pair-programming a fix, sometimes helping a team define their error budget, sometimes telling them it's exhausted.

This role is ideal for someone who has a strong vision for how SRE should work and thrives in async, fast-paced environments where influence matters more than authority.

    WHAT YOU'LL OWN

    - Partner with service teams to define meaningful SLIs and SLOs grounded in customer experience, and build the error budget policies that turn them into engineering decisions

    - Own and evolve the Operational Readiness Review (ORR) process — conducting reviews for new services and major changes across observability, alerting, runbooks, capacity, and graceful degradation

    - Strengthen the incident-to-improvement pipeline: connecting postmortem findings to operational readiness gaps, identifying repeat failure patterns, and driving systemic fixes

    - Act as the reliability expert teams pull in for architecture reviews, failure mode analysis, dependency mapping, and resilience design

    - Identify and quantify operational toil across the org, and build or advocate for automation that eliminates it

    - Help teams design sustainable on-call practices: alert quality, escalation paths, runbook coverage, and noise reduction

    - Track and report on org-wide operational maturity, surfacing systemic gaps and driving remediation

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 7+ years of experience in SRE, production engineering, or reliability-focused roles, including experience shaping SRE practices and driving adoption across engineering teams

    - Have a software engineering mindset — you write code and build tools, not just configure them

    - Have hands-on experience defining and operationalizing SLOs/SLIs at scale, including error budget policies that actually influenced engineering decisions

    - Have deep experience with incident response, postmortem facilitation, and turning incident learnings into systemic improvements

    - Have worked with large-scale multi-tenant systems (bonus: managed database platforms or Postgres)

    - Are proficient with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi preferred, Terraform/CDK also acceptable)

    - Communicate clearly and persuasively — this role requires influencing without authority across a distributed org

    - Have experience in async or globally distributed teams

    - Are energized by making other teams more effective rather than being the one who fixes everything

    NICE TO HAVE

    - Experience with Kubernetes-based platform operations

    - Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, or similar observability tooling

    - Experience building developer-facing reliability tooling (SLO dashboards, ORR frameworks, toil tracking, DORA metrics)

    WHAT WE OFFER

    - Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    - ESOP

Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.

    - Tech Allowance

Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.

    - Health Benefits

Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.

    - Annual Off-Sites

Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.

    - Flexible Work

We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.

    - Professional Development

Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

    ABOUT THE TEAM

Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.

    - ~400 team members

    - 60+ countries

    - 20+ languages spoken

    - Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)

    - 540,000+ community members

We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. This is all made possible by our team of 9,000+ full-time staff, drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. To learn more, please see our Why Work Here blog post.

Our Kenya program, founded in 2006, operates under the local brand Tupande. Close to 500 staff in our Kakamega headquarters support 1,747 field staff and serve more than 1 million farmers. In Nairobi, around 50 staff support global functions like procurement, recruitment, government relations, and communications.

    About the Role

Seeking a commercial professional with 2+ years of FMCG experience to drive Tupande's market expansion in Kenya, get products onto major supermarket shelves, launch Animal Feed and BioChar, and secure high-value B2B sales for excess produce.

    - Map local demand for excess produce and processing byproducts generated by export value chains.

    - Develop direct-to-business (B2B) or alternative local sales channels to sell Biochar, Animal Feed, excess produce and processing byproducts from across Tupdande’s value chains.

    Sales Management:

    - Build, negotiate, and maintain strategic partnerships with B2B customers, retail buyers, distributors, and store managers

    - Take full ownership of current customer relationships, ensuring consistent engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

    - Drive the sales pipeline and close deals to achieve or exceed targets.

    - Provide accurate revenue forecasting to department leadership.

    Account Management:

    - Maintain and grow strategic accounts by providing excellent service, understanding client needs, and offering tailored solutions.

    - Ensure a high standard of customer experience at all times.

We're looking for a Release Engineer (SRE) to join our Release Engineering team (part of EngOps) — a production-operations expert who brings an SRE mindset to how Supabase ships and runs, making deploys safe, observable, and recoverable at scale.

Release Engineering's scope has grown well beyond build-and-ship: we increasingly own the operational reliability of the systems that deploy and run Supabase. In this role you'll treat our deployment pipelines, pre-production signal, and the control plane itself as production systems — with SLOs, error budgets, and on-call ownership — and you'll be the person teams lean on when reliability is on the line.

This is not a "gatekeeper" role. You'll make the reliable path the easy path: standardising how we deploy, instrumenting what we ship, and ensuring that when something breaks, we detect it quickly and recover quickly.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    In this role, you'll:

    - Own the reliability of Supabase's deployment and release systems, and the control plane they run on, against clear SLOs and error budgets

    - Turn pre-production into a trustworthy signal — standardizing and instrumenting today's fragmented, ad-hoc deployment workflows

    - Drive disaster-recovery readiness, including making environments reproducibly deployable from scratch (untangling undocumented secrets, unclear configuration ownership, and circular service dependencies)

    - Build and operate health and SLO monitoring for critical user flows, using synthetic testing to catch regressions before customers do

    - Reduce mean-time-to-detect and mean-time-to-recover for deploy-related incidents — which account for a large share of our incident load

    - Participate in on-call, lead blameless postmortems, and turn findings into runbooks, alerting, and automation that remove toil

    - Improve deployment observability and auditability — a clear record of what shipped where, when, and by whom

    - Document operational procedures — break-glass paths, access models, and runbooks — so reliability knowledge isn't tribal

    RELIABILITY & OPERATIONS

    - Define and track SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and DORA delivery metrics — with meaningful alerting over noise

    - Ensure deployments fail fast and safely when health checks degrade

    - Harden access and break-glass workflows (e.g. scoped self-service) so the right people can act in an incident without unsafe workarounds

    - Partner with product engineering and platform teams to align release practices with reliability and availability targets

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years in SRE, production operations, platform engineering, or release engineering

    - Have operated production systems at scale and carried on-call for them

    - Are fluent in SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, and operational KPIs — and the observability tooling behind them (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or similar)

    - Have led incident response with tooling like incident.io http://incident.io (or PagerDuty / Opsgenie), run blameless postmortems, and driven down MTTD/MTTR

    - Operate confidently on AWS (multiple accounts, IAM, VPC) in production

    - Are comfortable with infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform) and Kubernetes

    - Script and automate to eliminate toil rather than absorb it

    - Communicate clearly with both infrastructure specialists and product engineers

    - Thrive in async, globally distributed teams

    - Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems over time

We are hiring a AI Platform Engineer to build the execution layer for Supabase's internal AI systems.

Supabase is building an AI-native internal operating system: a common way of working across the company where AI carries a meaningful share of the operational load rather than sitting alongside it as an assistant. We are standing up a new central team to build those systems, enable the teams, and embed AI operations throughout the organization. You are the engineer on that team.

The execution layer is yours. You will build the platform that actually runs agents: an event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime, durable state so work survives a restart, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and full logging of every prompt, tool call and decision so any run can be reconstructed. You will build the evaluation layer that makes any of it trustworthy, because an agent that cannot be measured cannot be trusted with anything beyond reading. And you will build the agents themselves, across everything from executive reporting down to a layer of agents that watch the platform and improve it.

This is a governance-heavy environment by design, and that is the interesting part of the problem. Agents are risk-tiered from read-only internal data through to external-facing output, with review depth, evaluation requirements and human approval scaling by tier. Some capabilities are permanently off limits: an agent may read and report, it may carry a human-authored update into a system of record once a human consents, and it may initiate contact within a strict budget, but it may never autonomously write a commitment (an owner, a due date, a status) into a shared work system. Your job is to make that structurally impossible rather than merely forbidden.

You will be the only engineer on this platform. You will close open architecture decisions yourself, own the infrastructure end to end, and instrument the system so it reports its own return.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    In this role, you'll:

    - Ship the agent platform to production. An event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime (choosing the runtime is an open decision you will close), durable state that survives a failed run, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and complete run logging in the warehouse.

    - Own the evaluation layer, and switch on the gate that depends on it. Golden suites with behavioral assertions rather than intuition, judge criteria with a written rubric, safety cases that must pass on every run, and a CI gate that blocks a regression from merging. This is the precondition for every agent that does anything beyond read internal data.

    - Build and register the agent portfolio. Reporting, drafting, linting, triage and question-answering agents across the executive, team-lead and individual-contributor layers, plus a meta layer that observes the platform and improves it.

    - Enforce governance in code. Risk tiers the pipeline actually enforces, least-privilege credentials per agent, tool-permission gates, a decision audit log, and autonomy classes where the dangerous class has no code path rather than a warning label. Nothing runs without a registered owner, tier, tool grant and human gate.

    - Design how the system contacts people. A hard interruption budget per person, message bundling instead of a stream of pings, and a structure that gives something useful before it asks for anything. Adoption depends on this more than on any other single design choice.

    - Own the platform tooling. The compiler and validator, inventory integrity, and the paths that distribute context and capabilities into the repositories and chat surfaces where work happens.

    - Compute the operating measures from production data. A pipeline from raw system activity through to a computed maturity grade per team, defensible enough that a team can dispute the result and be answered with the query rather than an opinion.

    - Instrument the platform's own return. A ledger that logs the work each agent absorbs and computes the monthly figure, so the value of the system is a measurement rather than a claim.

    HOW YOU'LL THINK

    RECURSIVE THINKING

You build the generator, not the artifact. When you need thirty agents, you do not write thirty agents; you build the inventory, the compiler and the distribution path that makes the thirty-first cost an afternoon, then a meta layer whose job is to watch the platform, find its drift and file the fix.

The evaluation layer is the same move applied to trust. You are not checking whether one agent is correct today. You are building the machine that decides whether every future agent is allowed to ship, which means the suite has to be right in a way the agent does not, and the thing that grades has to be graded too.

    INVERSION THINKING

You start from the failure and work backward to the design. The rule is that an agent may never autonomously write a commitment into a shared work system. The weak implementation is an instruction in a prompt. The strong one is that the credential in the agent's tool grant physically cannot set an owner, a due date or a status, so no amount of clever input, prompt injection or model error produces the forbidden write. You reach for the second one first.

Same for evaluation. Before writing a suite you enumerate how the agent can be wrong: an update that invents progress that did not happen, one that quotes a private channel into a public digest, one that is accurate and reads as an accusation, one that credits the wrong person. Then the suite is that list, each case caught before the agent ships rather than after it embarrasses someone.

We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst, Marketing to join our Data Intelligence team and build the measurement foundation that tells us what's actually working across paid and PLG channels. You'll work closely with Marketing, Growth, and channel owners, helping us move past platform-reported metrics and vanity numbers into causal, trusted answers about what drives pipeline and revenue.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments, is AI-forward in how they work, and is excited about building a measurement function from the ground up.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    Marketing Measurement Strategy

    - Own the end-to-end marketing measurement strategy across experimentation, media mix modeling, and attribution for paid and PLG channels

    - Establish and evolve the attribution framework: how platform data, multi-touch attribution, MMM, and experiments work together to inform decisions

    - Translate complex measurement outputs into clear recommendations on where to invest, what to cut, and how to hit pipeline, revenue, and efficiency targets (CAC, payback, LTV to CAC)

    - Serve as the subject matter expert for marketing measurement, educating stakeholders on causality, model uncertainty, and the limitations of platform-reported metrics

    Incrementality and Experimentation

    - Design and run always-on incrementality tests, user-level and geo-level, to quantify the causal impact of key channels, campaigns, and tactics

    - Calculate incremental lift, incrementality percent, and incremental ROAS/CPA, and use these to guide budget reallocation

    - Build repeatable analysis templates and playbooks for experiment design, analysis, and readouts so results are consistent across teams

    - Partner with channel owners (paid search, paid social, lifecycle, website/SEO) to build and prioritize a experimentation roadmap, embedding it into campaign planning, creative testing, and audience strategy

    Media Mix Modeling and Forecasting

    - Build and maintain media mix models using historical data to estimate channel contribution, marginal returns, and optimal budget allocation

    - Incorporate seasonality, adstock, and saturation effects, and continuously validate model performance through backtesting and reconciliation with experiment results

    - Turn MMM insights into budget scenarios and forecasts across channels and regions, communicated in a way non-technical stakeholders can act on

    Context, Tooling, and Data Integrity

    - Own and build the context and skills that let marketing teams run accurate self-serve analytics: metric definitions, model documentation, and reusable analysis patterns, not just dashboards

    - Use AI tools as a core part of daily work to accelerate analysis and go deeper than a traditional analyst workflow allows, and help establish AI-forward practices across the marketing org

    - Identify gaps and inconsistencies in marketing data (tracking, spend, platform exports) and work cross-functionally to fix them at the root rather than patching around them downstream

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    - Have 6+ years in marketing analytics, data science, or a related role, with a focus on performance marketing and/or PLG growth

    - Deeply understand marketing attribution, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling, and how they complement each other rather than compete

    - Are advanced in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (Python or R) for experiment analysis and modeling

    - Have hands-on experience designing, running, and interpreting experiments across digital marketing channels: search, social, display, email, in-product

    - Have built or worked closely with MMM and/or advanced attribution models, ideally in a consumption or BaaS environment

    - Have strong business acumen and fluency in growth metrics: CAC, LTV, payback period, conversion rates, funnel performance

    - Think in terms of self-service and scale: your instinct is to build tools and frameworks that make marketing teams independently capable, not to become the bottleneck for every "did this work" question

    - Can hold technical and strategic context at once: you're as comfortable in a model's residuals as you are in a conversation about budget tradeoffs

    - Are AI-forward in how you work: you use LLMs and AI tooling habitually and have a clear point of view on how it changes what an analyst can do

    - Communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders and know how to make causal nuance land in a business conversation

    - Thrive in async, autonomous environments and are energized by building a measurement function from the ground up

    Nice to Haves

    - Experience in BaaS, DevRel or open source dev tool companies, connecting marketing spend to pipeline and revenue outcomes

    - Experience with applied econometrics, time-series modeling, or Bayesian methods for MMM and experimentation

    - Familiarity with common marketing and analytics tools (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, web analytics, CDPs, BI/visualization tools)

We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst, Marketing to join our Data Intelligence team and build the measurement foundation that tells us what's actually working across paid and PLG channels. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Marketing Measurement Strategy - Own the end-to-end marketing measurement strategy across experimentation, media mix modeling, and attribution for paid and PLG channels - Establish and evolve the attribution framework: how platform data, multi-touch attribution, MMM, and experiments work together to inform decisions - Translate complex measurement outputs into clear recommendations on where to invest, what to cut, and how to hit pipeline, revenue, and efficiency targets (CAC, payback, LTV to CAC) - Serve as the subject matter expert for marketing measurement, educating stakeholders on causality, model uncertainty, and the limitations of platform-reported metrics Incrementality and Experimentation - Design and run always-on incrementality tests, user-level and geo-level, to quantify the causal impact of key channels, campaigns, and tactics - Calculate incremental lift, incrementality percent, and incremental ROAS/CPA, and use these to guide budget reallocation - Build repeatable analysis templates and playbooks for experiment design, analysis, and readouts so results are consistent across teams - Partner with channel owners (paid search, paid social, lifecycle, website/SEO) to build and prioritize a experimentation roadmap, embedding it into campaign planning, creative testing, and audience strategy Media Mix Modeling and Forecasting - Build and maintain media mix models using historical data to estimate channel contribution, marginal returns, and optimal budget allocation - Incorporate seasonality, adstock, and saturation effects, and continuously validate model performance through backtesting and reconciliation with experiment results - Turn MMM insights into budget scenarios and forecasts across channels and regions, communicated in a way non-technical stakeholders can act on Context, Tooling, and Data Integrity - Own and build the context and skills that let marketing teams run accurate self-serve analytics: metric definitions, model documentation, and reusable analysis patterns, not just dashboards - Use AI tools as a core part of daily work to accelerate analysis and go deeper than a traditional analyst workflow allows, and help establish AI-forward practices across the marketing org - Identify gaps and inconsistencies in marketing data (tracking, spend, platform exports) and work cross-functionally to fix them at the root rather than patching around them downstream You Might Be a Good Fit If You - Have 6+ years in marketing analytics, data science, or a related role, with a focus on performance marketing and/or PLG growth - Deeply understand marketing attribution, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling, and how they complement each other rather than compete - Are advanced in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (Python or R) for experiment analysis and modeling - Have hands-on experience designing, running, and interpreting experiments across digital marketing channels: search, social, display, email, in-product - Have built or worked closely with MMM and/or advanced attribution models, ideally in a consumption or BaaS environment - Have strong business acumen and fluency in growth metrics: CAC, LTV, payback period, conversion rates, funnel performance - Think in terms of self-service and scale: your instinct is to build tools and frameworks that make marketing teams independently capable, not to become the bottleneck for every "did this work" question - Can hold technical and strategic context at once: you're as comfortable in a model's residuals as you are in a conversation about budget tradeoffs - Are AI-forward in how you work: you use LLMs and AI tooling habitually and have a clear point of view on how it changes what an analyst can do - Communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders and know how to make causal nuance land in a business conversation - Thrive in async, autonomous environments and are energized by building a measurement function from the ground up Nice to Haves - Experience in BaaS, DevRel or open source dev tool companies, connecting marketing spend to pipeline and revenue outcomes - Experience with applied econometrics, time-series modeling, or Bayesian methods for MMM and experimentation - Familiarity with common marketing and analytics tools (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, web analytics, CDPs, BI/visualization tools) WHAT WE OFFER - Fully Remote We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world. - ESOP Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together. - Tech Allowance Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work. - Health Benefits Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are.

We’re building a high-performance CI/CD execution platform similar to runners used by tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, and Blacksmith CI. Our platform executes developer pipelines reliably at scale, integrates deeply with source control, and automates build, test, and deployment workflows.

In this role, you will design and build the distributed systems responsible for running CI/CD pipelines securely and efficiently. This includes orchestrating ephemeral compute environments, managing build isolation, scheduling jobs across fleets of workers, and ensuring reliability at scale.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and is excited about building developer tools that scale to millions.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    - Design and improve the core orchestration engine that manages the lifecycle of creating, merging, and rebasing Supabase Branches https://supabase.com/docs/guides/deployment/branching.

    - Provision ephemeral sandboxed execution environment on EKS / ECS for running untrusted build workloads from connected git repositories with securely managed secrets.

    - Implement job scheduling that scale to thousands of concurrent builds.

    - Optimize and reduce pipeline runtimes with caching, artifact storage, and dependency reuse.

    - Manage retry, timeout, cancellation, and failure-propagation logic to ensure pipelines behave predictably under failure conditions.

    - Instrument the full pipeline lifecycle with observability tooling to surface traces, metrics, and structured logs to the end user.

    - Develop configuration files (JSON / TOML) and integrations (Terraform / Pulumi) that allow teams to easily define, trigger, and inspect pipelines in code.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have strong software engineering skills (Go and Typescript required);

    - Have 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale;

    - Have cloud Infrastructure knowledge - familiarity with AWS constructs is required, past experience using the AWS SDKs and IaC tools (Pulumi, Terraform, etc) to build and operate infrastructure is strongly preferred.

    - Have a production operations mindset - track record of building reliable, observable, and maintainable systems

    - Have an ownership mindset - you thrive in being able to operate independently with high-level guidance

    - Communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences

    - Have experience in async or globally distributed teams

    - Are energized by solving real-world problems for developers

    - Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Billing team at Supabase. Billing owns the monetization and revenue systems that turn platform usage into accurate customer charges and finance-ready revenue data. The team’s scope includes plans, subscriptions, usage-based billing, invoices, payments, credits, coupons, taxation, dunning, collections, pricing mechanics, entitlements, marketplace and partner billing paths, and integrations with providers such as Stripe and Orb.

Billing sits at the intersection of engineering, product, finance, data, support, and partnerships. The systems are revenue-critical and trust-critical: they must remain correct, predictable, supportable, observable, and extensible as Supabase grows and introduces new products, pricing models, and partner channels.

This is a people, delivery, and technical leadership role. We don’t expect managers to contribute production code directly, but we do expect you to participate in architecture and design discussions, challenge plans with sound technical reasoning, and set a high bar for correctness, reliability, and operational maturity.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    Team & People

    - Build a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

    - Run 1:1s, performance management, career development, and onboarding for your direct reports.

    - Coach engineers working across backend application code, data pipelines, external integrations, and operational workflows.

    - Build durable ownership across the team so critical billing knowledge, access, and incident response do not depend on one person.

    - Handle people administration, including leave and time off, for your team.

    Hiring

    - Own the hiring plan for the Billing team and act as Hiring Manager and first-round interviewer for roles on the team.

    - Partner with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close strong candidates with the right mix of billing-domain depth and engineering judgment.

    - Contribute to headcount planning, org design, and the evolution of engineering leadership at Supabase.

    Delivery, Roadmap & Partnerships

    - Own the Billing roadmap and project management in Linear, driving accountability, clear milestones, and predictable delivery.

    - Balance new pricing and product capabilities with investments in system correctness, resilience, supportability, and technical debt.

    - Manage workflow intake and Slack triage, deciding what should be routed, prioritized, sequenced, or pushed back on.

    - Own weekly updates and keep stakeholders aligned without creating unnecessary overhead.

    - Surface risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and revenue or customer-impact concerns early and clearly to leadership.

    Incident Commander

    - Train as an Incident Commander and lead coordination, resolution, customer-impact assessment, and post-incident follow-up.

    - Lead blameless post-incident reviews.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years of engineering background, with enough depth to be credible with engineers building complex systems.

    - Have 3+ years managing remote engineering teams.

    - Have managed a billing engineering team at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company. Experience with developer tools or databases is a strong preference, but we'll consider any sufficiently technical background where you can demonstrate the ability to ramp on a new domain.

    - Have managed remote, globally distributed teams that work asynchronously across disparate time zones.

    - Are technical enough to be credible with strong engineers, but genuinely passionate about people management. This is the work you want to do, not a track you're settling for.

    - Build psychological safety and a feedback culture: you give feedback often and in the moment, ask for it back, and create space for the team to do the same.

    - Operate as a multiplier. Focused on helping individuals achieve more than they could alone, not on being the best technical voice in the room.

    - Coach rather than direct. Remove blockers, connect people to context and resources, and trust your engineers to own how the work gets done.

    - Have a real track record of performance management and can speak to specific examples of difficult conversations and how you navigated them.

    - Are comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building structure where there isn't much.

    - Communicate clearly and write well. You're default async, default written, set context proactively, and surface risks early.

    - Are collaborative, low-ego, and adaptable. You thrive working with high-autonomy, senior ICs who have strong technical opinions and don't need to be the smartest person in the room.

RELEVANT BILLING DOMAIN & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

You should bring experience across most of the following areas:

    - Subscription lifecycle and monetization mechanics: plans and packaging, billing cycles, upgrades and downgrades, proration, upfront and in-arrears charges, add-ons, credits, coupons, discounts, refunds, taxes, dunning, collections, disputes, and chargebacks.

    - Usage-based billing at scale: converting raw product and infrastructure telemetry into billable usage; defining meters and dimensions; applying quotas and pricing; handling late-arriving data; and supporting deterministic reruns, backfills, and reconciliation.

    - Payments and billing-provider integrations: production experience with Stripe, Orb, or comparable providers, including APIs, webhooks, invoice lifecycle, payment failures, event ingestion, sync engines, rate limits, provider SLAs, and graceful degradation during outages.

    - Entitlements and pricing enforcement: separating feature access from charging, managing plan defaults and customer-speci...

You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Product to find and ship savings, build the tooling necessary to maximize efficiency of every dollar spent in the cloud, and cultivate a culture of cost awareness across engineering teams. This role owns the data side of that mission: the models, pipelines, and analysis that make cost, usage, and margin numbers trustworthy across the company.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not an analyst seat. You'll do the schlep work other teams don't have time for, digging into a bucket's access pattern, writing the dbt model or Python pipeline that ships the fix, building the cost-vs-revenue mart that answers a margin question once instead of every time, and chasing a number until it reconciles. Strong communication matters as much as technical depth, you'll regularly explain a savings case or a data model's implications to an engineering team, a finance stakeholder, and a leadership audience in the same week.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    In this role, you'll:

    - Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP: Analyze billing, usage, and cost trends to identify opportunities, rightsizing, storage lifecycle policies, data transfer, and spot/auto-scaling. Take ideas from identification through to a realized dollar figure, not just a recommendation.

    - Build and maintain the FinOps data pipeline: Design and run the BigQuery/dbt models that turn raw billing and usage data (CUR, Storage Lens) into reconciled, trustworthy mart tables, the foundation everything else in FinOps is built on.

    - Build cost-vs-revenue and customer segmentation models: Model unit economics and margin by product line and customer segment, and extend coverage as new products and segments come online.

    - Apply data science to cost and usage data: Build forecasting models, detect anomalies statistically rather than by threshold alone, and quantify savings opportunities (e.g. storage lifecycle, request-cost patterns) with rigor a spreadsheet can't match.

    - Build and maintain cost attribution: Tagging policies, cost allocation, and chargeback/showback so engineering teams can see and own their own spend. This is foundational work other savings work depends on.

    - Automate cost governance: Build automated cost reporting, anomaly detection, and alerting. Write the scripts and infrastructure-as-code (Python, Terraform, Lambda) that enforce cost policy rather than relying on manual review.

    - Partner with engineering on architecture decisions: Bring cost into the room early, cost-efficiencies are cheaper to get right at design than to retrofit.

    - Work with Finance on forecasting and reporting: Support budget tracking and financial KPIs; build dashboards and self-serve analytics engineering and finance can both read.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    - Have strong AWS expertise and working GCP knowledge, including pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics.

    - Have data engineering depth: dbt, BigQuery (or an equivalent modern warehouse), SQL at scale, and data modeling for analytics (dimensional modeling, incremental models, testing).

    - Have data science fundamentals: statistical forecasting, anomaly detection, and experimentation, and know when a rigorous model beats a rule of thumb.

    - Have automation and scripting skills: Python, Terraform/ pulumi, Lambda, or Bash.

    - Are comfortable with cost/billing tooling: AWS Cost Explorer, Cost & Usage Reports, GCP Billing Reports, and BI/dashboarding (we use Hex).

    - Have experience with, or are comfortable picking up, Linear and Notion as the system of record for tracking and documenting FinOps work.

    - Experience with a dedicated cloud cost management platform (e.g. CloudZero, Vantage, or similar) is a plus, not required.

    - Can analyze cost data and present it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    - Have prior experience spanning data analytics, data engineering, or data science in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance context.

    - Are energized by doing the unglamorous, high-leverage work (the schlep) that unblocks other teams, and by working cross-functionally without positional authority.
