The Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi in May 2026 announced Ksh2.9 trillion in continental investment commitments and nearly Ksh129 billion in broader partnerships with Kenya alone.
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has invited public comments on the proposed Science and Engineering Complex for the University of Nairobi, seeking views on its environmental and social impact.
The authority, through a notice dated October 27, flagged potential risks, including construction noise, dust, traffic congestion, water pollution, and damage to vegetation, requiring mitigation measures before and during the project.
NEMA wants the university to be in full compliance regarding planning prerequisites, encompassing approvals from relevant agencies, and the 30-metre riparian reserve rule for waterways that the project could affect once constructed.
