President William Ruto has directed authorities to conduct thorough inspections of public service vehicles (PSVs) following a horrific road crash that killed 23 people and injured 25 others along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway on Sunday.
The accident occurred at about 7.45am at Kanga, near Mtito Andei, when a bus belonging to Power of the Word Church International and carrying 45 passengers collided head-on with a lorry-trailer.
The bus was travelling to Mombasa from western Kenya, where the passengers had attended a burial ceremony.
