Kenya Met Predicts Light Rains in 29 Counties, Thunderstorms and Sunny Conditions in Other Today

Nairobi will be sunny through the day, but the weatherman forecasts a chance of light showers over a few places overnight.

The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast rain in 29 counties on Saturday, October 24, with thunderstorms expected in 20 of them, while the other 18 counties stay largely sunny.

In its daily forecast issued at 3pm on Friday, October 23, the weather agency said the outlook runs from 9pm on Friday to 9pm on Saturday. Most of the rain is expected in the afternoon, after a sunny morning in nearly all counties.

Rain is expected in Meru, West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira. Showers are likely in Isiolo, Tharaka-Nithi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a, Elgeyo/Marakwet, Baringo and Homa Bay.

Mombasa and Kiambu have a chance of light showers, in the morning and afternoon respectively.
