Bolt, NTSA and Nairobi County Train Ride-Hailing Drivers on Road Safety

Story

To increase compliance and lessen conflict between county askaris and boda boda riders, the county guided riders through Nairobi County bylaws during the training.

Bolt, the Nairobi City County Government and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) have stepped up efforts to improve road safety and compliance among ride-hailing drivers in the capital.

The initiative comes as Nairobi, alongside Kiambu and Nakuru, continues to register the highest number of road traffic fatalities throughout 2026.

NTSA data showed that a staggering 15,472 people have sustained injuries on the roads across the country in the first 10 months of the year.

The three organisations reinforced their collaboration during a joint driver safety and compliance engagement that brought together motorbike and vehicle drivers, county transport officials, NTSA and emergency response provider Rescue.co.

During the session, NTSA officials highlighted dangerous driving behaviours, including speeding, distracted driving, unsafe lane-splitting and driver fatigue.
