11 busy Nairobi roads to be closed this weekend: Here are diversion routes to use

Nairobi road closures and traffic diversions on 25 October 2026 will affect 11 routes for the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon, from midnight to 2pm.

Nairobi motorists face significant travel disruptions this Sunday, October 25, 2026, as 11 major roads across the city will be closed or diverted for up to 14 hours to accommodate the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.

Standard Chartered Kenya issued the road closure notice, urging drivers to familiarise themselves with the designated alternative routes before setting out.

"​To ensure smooth travel, please take note of the designated alternative routes and plan your journey in advance," the lender advised.

The restrictions will be in force from 12am to 2pm, affecting corridors through Kikuyu, Karen, Dagoretti, Langata, Mombasa Road, and several other parts of the city.
