Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has moved to reassign three county chief officers, with the reshuffle coming days after one of them publicly declared an interest in challenging him for the governorship in 2027.

A circular dated October 21, 2026, signed by County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Machel Waikenda and referenced NCC/CS/003/2026, confirmed the changes, which took effect immediately.

Geoffrey Mosiria, who held the position of chief officer for citizen engagement and customer service, was sacked following his public statements about a possible bid for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
