Head coach Patrick Nyale has trimmed his traveling contingent to a lean, highly technical 14-player roster composed primarily of standout talent from the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) and Junior Secondary School (JSS) games circuits.

But unlike standard FIFA youth tournaments, this inaugural showpiece strips away conventional 11-a-side structures in favor of an intense, fast-paced small-sided festival.

Engineered under FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, the tournament is tailored specifically to accelerate decision-making, spatial awareness, and technical mastery under heavy pressure.

Rather than sprawling 11v11 setups where young players often touch the ball infrequently, the Baku festival reimagines international football through compact battlegrounds.
