The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has warned members of the public against fake recruitment advertisements circulating online.
The warning comes amid the circulation of several documents purporting to announce recruitment opportunities for various positions in the military, including General Service Officer (GSO) cadets, specialist officers, general duty recruits, tradesmen and women, and Defence Forces constables.
In its clarification, KDF cautioned job seekers against relying on unverified announcements, urging them to seek recruitment information only through official communication channels.
"KDF warns the public against fake recruitment adverts circulating online. No recruitment is ongoing," the military stated.
It outlines purported eligibility requirements, including Kenyan citizenship, possession of a valid National Identity Card, academic qualifications, physical fitness and age limits that vary depending on the position.
