Sifuna: I will be the first one-term Senator to become president

Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi leader Edwin Sifuna says he will be on the ballot in 2027 to challenge President William Ruto.

Addressing congregants at at church service in Donholm, Niarobi, Sifuna dismissed questions about his experience and financial muscle, expressing confidence that the new political outfit will gain nationwide support as he calls for opposition unity.

“For now, I am receiving a lot of pressure from Kenyans to vie for the presidency. People are asking, ‘huyu Sifuna mnaita rais, how will it happen?’ they say I am young and have no money. But I know god’s guidance will lead me. I will be the first one-term senator to become president,” he said. The declaration comes as the egistrar of Political Parties processes a proposed name change of the equitable party to Linda Mwananchi movement.
