Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced a 24-hour water supply interruption affecting several estates and neighbourhoods across Nairobi County to facilitate emergency repairs on a major pipeline.
In a customer notice issued on Tuesday, NCWSC said the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) would shut down the NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete pipeline to allow emergency repair works along the line.
The shutdown is expected to last approximately 24 hours, with residents and businesses in several parts of the city set to experience water shortages.
Among the affected areas are Riverside, Lavington, Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Ngumo West, Golf Course I and II, Woodley, Adams Arcade and parts of Ngong Road.
Other affected neighbourhoods include Kibera, Olympic, Gatwekera, Ayany, Karanja Road, Makongeni, Jamhuri, Southlands, Mbagathi Ridge and areas surrounding Forces Memorial and Mbagathi Hospital.
