Amisi, Sonko Parties Announce New Changes Ahead of 2027

The changes come as political realignments gather pace ahead of the 2027 General Election, with candidates positioning themselves to challenge President Ruto.

Three political parties linked to Caleb Amisi, Mike Sonko and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru have announced changes to their leadership and party structures ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The changes were published in the Kenya Gazette on October 9, 2026, and affect the People’s Renaissance Movement (PM), Sonko’s National Economic Development Party (NEDP) and the Kenya Moja Movement Party.

PM is seeking to amend its constitution and move its headquarters from River Bank Court in Kileleshwa to Riara Gardens, off Riara Road, in Lavington, Nairobi.

The party has also listed Antony Samba Buluma as Secretary General, Teddy Ngumbao Mwambire as National Chairperson, Jean Njeri Njoroge as Organising Secretary and Geoffrey Shumanyula as Executive Director.
