KMPDU Deputy SG Miskellah lands State board appointment

KMPDU Deputy Secretary General Dr. Dennis Miskellah has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Local Authorities Provident Fund (LAPFUND) for a three-year term.

The appointment, announced in Gazette Notice No. 15978 dated October 9, 2026, was made by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi under the Local Authorities Provident Fund Act.

Dr. Miskellah's appointment comes at a time when county governments owe LAPFUND more than Ksh.100 billion in unremitted contributions, according to KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah.

In a congratulatory message, Dr. Atellah said Miskellah's appointment presented an opportunity to strengthen accountability in the management of the fund and ensure employers remit contributions as required.

“You take up this critical national assignment at a time when counties owe the Fund over Ksh.100 billion in unremitted contributions. This presents a monumental governance task,” Dr. Atellah said.
