In its statement released on October 9, 2026, KPC confirmed receiving the union's strike notice and noted media coverage of a press briefing held by KPOWU leadership earlier in the day.

The state-owned corporation emphasized its commitment to resolving employee grievances through established legal mechanisms and structured dialogue.

KPC affirmed its commitment to respecting and fully implementing the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) while complying with all applicable labor laws governing unionisable employees.
