Wales captain James has World Cup on her mind

Story

Wales take on Albania over two legs in the semi-finals of the play-offs motivated by reaching a World Cup for the first time.

Angharad James is set to win her 146th cap in Albania on Friday

Captain Angharad James says the Women's World Cup is always on her mind as Wales prepare for Friday's play-off semi-final first leg in Albania.

Wales' women look to take a step closer to a first World Cup appearance in the nation's history as they face the Albanians in Shkoder.

Rhian Wilkinson's side will have home advantage in next Tuesday's return leg at Parc y Scarlets with the winners facing either Norway or Romania in a two-legged play-off final in December.

Even if they come through both play-off rounds, Wales may then have to negotiate inter-confederation play-offs in February to book their place at next year's tournament in Brazil.

Yet James, 32, says she is already thinking about the idea of representing Wales at the World Cup during "every training session, every day".
