Several Feared Dead After Lorry Ploughs into Vehicles and Boda Boda Operators in Meru

Several people are feared dead after a lorry rammed into vehicles and boda boda operators in Meru County.

The tragic accident occurred on Thursday, October 8 night, at the Riverland area of Meru Town.

Photos of the accident seen by Nairobileo.co.ke showed a lorry overturned, with its windscreen shattered.

Other vehicles were also seen wrecked and severely damaged following the accident.

Following the accident, emergency response teams from Meru County were deployed to the scene to provide assistance.

The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to the morgue.

Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma, in a statement, extended his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident.

“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this heartbreaking incident. To the families who may have lost their loved ones, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences during this painful and difficult moment.
