Former Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Ibrahim Ali has been appointed as the new female non-Member Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

National Assembly Speaker Moses M. Wetang’ula presiding over the swearing-in of Fatuma Ibrahim Ali as a new Non-Member Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) on October 8, 2026.

Ali was sworn in on Thursday by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, succeeding Rachel Ameso, whose term expired.

She was approved by the National Assembly on Wednesday after the Senate approved her appointment on October 1.

Speaking after taking the oath, Fatuma vowed to honour the appointment and work with fellow commissioners to safeguard the mandate of the PSC.

“I am a person who believes in consensus in commissions. Consensus is very crucial in decision-making, and I am committed to working on consensus at all times,” she said.
