As Nairobi’s political landscape begins taking shape ahead of the 2027 General Election, attention is gradually shifting to leaders with extensive experience in the capital’s political and legislative affairs.

Among the names attracting interest is Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Okeyo Ng’ondi, an ODM-affiliated politician who has been at the centre of the county legislature since 2022.

Ng’ondi was elected Speaker on September 29, 2022, after securing 68 votes in the second round against Hassan Robow, who received 55. He previously served as the assembly’s deputy speaker between 2013 and 2017.
