Speaking to the media in Nairobi, Kandie said that some suspects have already been taken to court as detectives intensify operations against criminal networks.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has revealed key areas in Nairobi where officers have been arresting people accused of obtaining money through false pretences, theft, and running scams.

Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigation Officer Setim Kandie said that DCI officers have arrested several suspects in areas including Kilimani, Westlands, and the Central Business District (CBD)

He went ahead and warned the public to remain vigilant and not fall for false pretence schemes, including people using different tactics to obtain money.

“We are warning them and assuring the public that they should not fall prey to these scams,” Kandie said.

Over the past few months, DCI has been carrying out heavy investigations and arresting culprits who have been found in gang phone theft rings within Nairobi and its neighbouring counties.
