OPINION: Title deeds dignify Coast residents, honour Raila by solving historical land injustices

القصص

For over six decades, the people of the Coastal region have lived in utter destitution in a place they proudly call home. Being deprived of important documents such as title deeds relegated them to a squalid life with a dark cloud of uncertainty permanently hovering over their lives.

With President William Ruto giving out over 300,000 title deeds (scaling up to 500,000 by December 2026), he has in many ways dignified the people who have unfairly borne the undue burden of being labelled sluggards out of circumstances not of their making.

Successive political establishments paid lip service to the perennial issue of land while making it a hot political issue every election cycle. It is ironic that those that glossed over it , are now frothing at the mouth, seeing with anger at the point President Ruto delivered the title deeds to the residents.
