Sifuna Announces Upcoming Changes to TEP Moments After Being Named Party Leader

Nairobi Senator and 2027 Presidential aspirant Edwin Sifuna has revealed more plans to cushion his 2027 presidential ambitions, after months-long party name disputes.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced plans to rebrand The Equitable Party (TEP) to the Linda Mwananchi Movement ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the unveiling of the TEP Party on Sunday, October 4, in Nairobi, Sifuna said the proposed change had been agreed upon by the movement's principals and supporters who had helped build its political identity.

"So, in the coming days, and as has been resolved by the principles of Linda Mwanaichi, who you see here, we shall be seeking to rebrand this party, the equitable party, to the Linda Mwanaichi movement," Sifuna stated.

He, however, warned that the party would retain the TEP name if further obstacles were placed in the path of the rebranding process. Sifuna said the party would continue under its current identity until the 2027 ballot if the name-change bid failed.
