Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has weighed in on growing complaints from Nairobi parents who allege their children are being served raw or poorly cooked chapatis through the county's school feeding initiative.

The matter gained traction after a parent posted photographs online showing what appeared to be undercooked wheat served to learners. The parent also reported that children had been complaining of stomach upsets following the meals.

Responding via Facebook, Babu Owino said reports of substandard meals were reaching him from multiple schools across the city.
