TSC Chairperson Dr. Jamleck Muturi dismissed the claims, saying the commission does not issue appointment letters to politicians and that recruitment decisions are made through an established process.

Speaking at St. Mary’s Kiangima High School in Embu County on Thursday during a build-up event ahead of World Teachers’ Day, Muturi said the commission operates independently under its constitutional mandate.

"We are an independent Commission whereby we don't receive instructions from anybody to employ teachers. We work within the realms of the Constitution,” said Dr. Muturi.

He said vacancies are first advertised, after which eligible candidates apply and undergo interviews before successful applicants are appointed.
