Nairobi residents impressed as German Shepherd helps catch suspected phone snatcher

A German Shepherd in Kileleshwa reportedly chased down a phone-snatching suspect and pinned him down. Boda boda riders gathered to confront and criticise him.

A morning stroll in Kileleshwa took a dramatic turn after a German Shepherd reportedly intercepted a man who had allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a Chinese national.

According to witnesses, the incident unfolded when a motorbike rider allegedly grabbed the phone from the victim before trying to get away.

Luckily, a German Shepherd being walked nearby at the time spotted the commotion, broke into a sprint, and chased the suspect down before the man could escape.

Footage captured shortly after showed the dog clamping its teeth firmly onto the suspect's trouser, forcing him onto the cobblestones at the roadside. The dog did not bite the man but refused to release its grip until its handler physically lifted it away to free the suspect's leg.
