Nairobi has launched a joint disaster simulation exercise and activated a multi-agency command centre at Charter Hall, City Hall, as the county moves to test its emergency systems ahead of the October to December rainy season on October 1, 2026.
Governor Sakaja Johnson announced that Charter Hall would serve as the central Crisis Communication Centre and Emergency Operations Command Post, consolidating information and directing field teams across all participating agencies during Operation Okoa Maisha.
