Two Ex-Public Officers Charged Over Forged Certificates

Two former public officers have been charged in Nairobi over allegations of using forged academic certificates to secure employment and an acting appointment.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said Kenneth Mwiti Kiogora and Daniel Mukoya Olando were arrested on Wednesday and separately arraigned on Thursday, where they denied the charges.

Kiogora, a former Second Clerk Assistant at the Kiambu County Assembly, is accused of forging a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate and presenting it as a genuine document issued by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

According to preliminary investigations cited by the EACC, Kiogora allegedly used the certificate to secure employment at the county assembly.

The commission further alleges that he fraudulently acquired public property worth Sh6,283,631.30 in the form of salaries.
