Four people have reportedly died after two trucks collided head-on and burst into flames at Kiunduani along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
The victims were reported to include the drivers of the two trucks, a woman and a child who were travelling in one of the vehicles.
The collision occurred before both trucks caught fire, with the occupants reportedly trapped inside the wreckage as the flames spread.
Images and videos circulating from the scene showed the two heavy vehicles engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke rising above the highway.
Debris was scattered across the accident scene as motorists slowed down to assess the situation, while some people were seen attempting to put out the fire.
The crash disrupted traffic along the busy transport corridor, with vehicles reportedly forced to use the road’s sidelines to navigate past the scene.
