"The people in Nakuru will decide on their own. We are in the Rift Valley; there is no Mountain here."
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has told off Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua over his alleged meddling in county politics.
Speaking on Friday, November 6, Kihika said Nakuru is in the Rift Valley, not a Mount Kenya County, as Gachagua insinuated.
She explained that assuming the county is an extension of the Central Region just because several members of the Mount Kenya Community lived there is misplaced, as the county is cosmopolitan.
She alleged that the former Deputy President has been demanding payments from the entrepreneurs, and called for isolation for those who don't play along with the alleged extortion.
"I have said it time and again that Gachagua likes intimidating Kikuyu businessmen who do not give him money. He keeps on calling them names and harassing them because he is an extensionist," she added.
