Nairobi commuters have faced a wet and slow journey on Friday morning as heavy rainfall swept across parts of the city, sending pedestrians and motorists to navigate slick roads.
People walked briskly beneath umbrellas along busy streets, while others hurried across wet roads to get to work.
Other commuters picked a careful path beside slow-moving traffic, while others leapt across a drainage channel to avoid a puddle.
Motorists and public service vehicles moved through congested roads as visibility dropped in the rain and mist.
Motorcycles also negotiated the wet surfaces, while traffic police officers directed vehicles under umbrellas.
Along the roadside, pedestrians made their way past muddy, debris-strewn paths, with some grabbing food on the move despite the downpour.
