A Nairobi family is demanding justice following the alleged murder of 23-year-old Latifa Akumu Orimba, whose body was reportedly discovered in River Nithi in Chuka.

Latifa was last seen on October 26, 2026, after she allegedly disappeared from Nyayo Highrise in Kibra, Nairobi. Her family spent days searching for her before the devastating discovery was made, seven days after she went missing.

What made the loss even more painful was its timing. Just weeks earlier, on October 3, 2026, Latifa had been photographed eulogising her late mother at her burial. The family, who had already been grieving one loss, was now faced with burying another.
