DJ Mo fined Sh5,000 after admitting to driving uninsured car on Thika Road

Media personality and disc jockey Samuel Muraya, popularly known as DJ Mo, has been fined Sh5,000 after pleading guilty to charges of driving an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying police directives.

Muraya was brought before the Milimani Traffic Court on Wednesday following his arrest on November 4, 2026, at around 8:55 am in the Roasters area along Thika Road, Nairobi County.

According to the charge sheet, Muraya was accused of driving a Jaguar, without valid third-party motor vehicle insurance.

The charge was brought under Section 4(1), as read with Section 4(2) of the Insurance (Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks) Act, Cap 405.

In an alternative charge, he was accused of failing to display a valid insurance certificate, contrary to Section 9(1), as read with Section 17 of the same Act.
