The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is under fresh pressure over its plate-removal enforcement policy after the head of the Mass Mobility Operators Association questioned the practice and warned that steep fines are fuelling corruption on Kenyan roads.
Wilfred Bosire, speaking during a panel discussion on KBC on Tuesday, November 3, challenged NTSA's approach of impounding number plates from vehicles with no visible mechanical defect, arguing the Authority should instead focus on measures that hold individual drivers accountable without penalising vehicle owners.
