Malala renews push for Kalonzo to back Sifuna's bid

DCP deputy leader insists Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna represents generational change and urges Kalonzo Musyoka to support his presidential bid

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala has renewed calls for Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka to support Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the United Opposition’s presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.

Malala maintained that Sifuna represents the aspirations of Kenya’s younger generation and offers an opportunity for political change, insisting that Kalonzo should consider supporting the senator rather than pursuing his own presidential ambitions.

Speaking on Saturday, Malala said he stood by his earlier proposal despite criticism from sections of the opposition, maintaining that his position was informed by the need to give young leaders an opportunity to steer the country.
