Nairobi and Kiambu are expected to receive above-average rains this month as El Niño sets in with devastating consequences.
Temperatures in Nairobi, Kiambu, and Murang'a will remain above average this November, despite forecasts of increased rainfall, according to the Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA).
According to the monthly forecast released on Friday, October 30, the mean temperatures around the country will remain elevated, with these counties ranging between 20°C and 30°C.
“The coolest conditions are generally expected over the highlands, where mean temperatures range between 15°C and 20°C, while the arid and semi-arid lowlands are likely to experience warmer conditions, with mean temperatures exceeding 28°C,” the Met said.
Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi counties are the other counties expected to receive similar weather to Nairobi in November.
