Nairobi county lists sausage trollies, samosa boxes among impounded goods

The county has given owners 14 days to collect their belongings, waiving applicable collection and storage charges ahead of a planned public auction.

At least 49 categories of items have been impounded and are being held at Dagoretti Pounds, the Nairobi City County Government has announced.

In a public notice issued by County Secretary and Head of County Public Service Dr Machel Waikenda, the county asked members of the public whose property had been impounded or confiscated to identify their belongings and make arrangements for collection within the stipulated period.

"Accordingly, members of the public whose property or goods were impounded or confiscated by the County are hereby notified to collect their property within fourteen (14) days from the date of publication of this notice," it states.

The notice follows the county government's approval of the disposal of obsolete, surplus, unserviceable, impounded and confiscated county assets for the 2025/2026 financial year.
