More Survivors Detected in Eastleigh Rubble as 85% Is Cleared

DCI detectives have also intensified their investigation into the incident, with several people questioned as officers seek to establish what led to the collapse of the building.

In a major development, two more people have been detected alive under the rubble of an 18-storey building that collapsed along 9th Street in Eastleigh, Nairobi, days after six people were recovered.

The discovery was made on Tuesday evening, October 27, as rescue teams entered the sixth day of searching for survivors, with the latest development raising hopes that more people could be rescued alive.

The two survivors were detected using special equipment operated by Chinese experts hired by the government to help locate people trapped under the debris, but as of Wednesday morning, October 28, rescuers had not yet reached them.

Rescue teams are working around the clock to reach those trapped inside the collapsed building, with the latest development indicating that the rescuers have removed about 85 per cent of the rubble as they continue searching for survivors.
