    ABOUT SUPABASE

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for engineers to join the team building Supabase Lite https://www.npmjs.com/package/@supabase/lite, a lightweight, TypeScript-native implementation of Supabase. It runs interchangeably on SQLite and Postgres and ships a PostgREST and Auth compatible API, so applications written against @supabase/supabase-js work as-is. It exists because AI builders and platform partners need a database they can give to every prototype without the cost or the wait: sub-second provisioning, a footprint small enough to run inside a sandbox, and an upgrade path to full Supabase when an app graduates to production.

This is a role with a lot of agency. Small team, working product, patterns still to be set - you'll own large areas end to end and make real decisions from day one.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    In this role, you'll:

    - Grow API compatibility with the Supabase client, keeping behavior faithful to hosted Supabase and backed by conformance tests

    - Bring more of the Supabase stack to SQLite

    - Build and harden the path for upgrading a project from Supabase Lite to full Supabase

    - Own the developer experience end to end: the CLI, local tooling, and docs

    - Build and harden the hosted offering on a scale-to-zero, near-zero-cost footing, kept loosely coupled so the implementation can be swapped without a rewrite

    - Work directly with design partners and turn real-world migration and integration friction into a sharper product

    - Engage with the open-source community and contribute back to the broader Supabase stack.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have substantial backend or full-stack experience with strong fluency in TypeScript, and have built or contributed to a backend system, framework, or developer platform before

    - Are a strong generalist, comfortable moving across the stack from API design to storage internals to infrastructure, and picking up whatever the problem needs

    - Read unfamiliar code without friction. A lot of the work means studying reference implementations in other languages, such as GoTrue in Go and PostgREST in Haskell, and matching their behavior in TypeScript

    - Have a solid grounding in SQL and relational databases, and the curiosity to dig into where Postgres and SQLite differ

    - Have a bias toward compatibility and correctness, and reach for tests and specs to prove behavior

    - Think around corners. When everyone reaches for the standard playbook, you look for the simpler path that fits a smaller box — breaking a complex system down to the 20% that covers 80% of the need, then making it run somewhere far smaller than it was designed for

    - Care about developer experience: clean APIs, fast feedback loops, and tooling that makes the right thing the easy thing

    - Are comfortable owning ambiguous, early-stage work and making sound calls that inform and define the spec. This is a founding role on a brand-new team

    - Are comfortable working in public repositories on a remote, async team

    - Communicate clearly in writing

    - Bonus: experience with the Supabase stack, building developer CLIs, or a track record of open-source maintenance.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    - Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    - ESOP

Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.

    - Tech Allowance

Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.

    - Health Benefits

Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.

    - Annual Off-Sites

Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.

    - Flexible Work

We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.

    - Professional Development

Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

    ABOUT THE TEAM

Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.

    - ~400 team members

    - 60+ countries

    - 20+ languages spoken

    - Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)

    - 540,000+ community members

We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

We're looking for a Release Engineer (SRE) to join our Release Engineering team (part of EngOps) — a production-operations expert who brings an SRE mindset to how Supabase ships and runs, making deploys safe, observable, and recoverable at scale.

Release Engineering's scope has grown well beyond build-and-ship: we increasingly own the operational reliability of the systems that deploy and run Supabase. In this role you'll treat our deployment pipelines, pre-production signal, and the control plane itself as production systems — with SLOs, error budgets, and on-call ownership — and you'll be the person teams lean on when reliability is on the line.

This is not a "gatekeeper" role. You'll make the reliable path the easy path: standardising how we deploy, instrumenting what we ship, and ensuring that when something breaks, we detect it quickly and recover quickly.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    In this role, you'll:

    - Own the reliability of Supabase's deployment and release systems, and the control plane they run on, against clear SLOs and error budgets

    - Turn pre-production into a trustworthy signal — standardizing and instrumenting today's fragmented, ad-hoc deployment workflows

    - Drive disaster-recovery readiness, including making environments reproducibly deployable from scratch (untangling undocumented secrets, unclear configuration ownership, and circular service dependencies)

    - Build and operate health and SLO monitoring for critical user flows, using synthetic testing to catch regressions before customers do

    - Reduce mean-time-to-detect and mean-time-to-recover for deploy-related incidents — which account for a large share of our incident load

    - Participate in on-call, lead blameless postmortems, and turn findings into runbooks, alerting, and automation that remove toil

    - Improve deployment observability and auditability — a clear record of what shipped where, when, and by whom

    - Document operational procedures — break-glass paths, access models, and runbooks — so reliability knowledge isn't tribal

    RELIABILITY & OPERATIONS

    - Define and track SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and DORA delivery metrics — with meaningful alerting over noise

    - Ensure deployments fail fast and safely when health checks degrade

    - Harden access and break-glass workflows (e.g. scoped self-service) so the right people can act in an incident without unsafe workarounds

    - Partner with product engineering and platform teams to align release practices with reliability and availability targets

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years in SRE, production operations, platform engineering, or release engineering

    - Have operated production systems at scale and carried on-call for them

    - Are fluent in SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, and operational KPIs — and the observability tooling behind them (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or similar)

    - Have led incident response with tooling like incident.io http://incident.io (or PagerDuty / Opsgenie), run blameless postmortems, and driven down MTTD/MTTR

    - Operate confidently on AWS (multiple accounts, IAM, VPC) in production

    - Are comfortable with infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform) and Kubernetes

    - Script and automate to eliminate toil rather than absorb it

    - Communicate clearly with both infrastructure specialists and product engineers

    - Thrive in async, globally distributed teams

    - Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems over time

We're hiring experienced performance engineers to find and land performance wins across the Supabase stack — from the query optimiser to block device level, and across the network paths and cloud infrastructure that connect our distributed platform. This is a performance delivery role: real, measured improvements to our database, platform, and APIs as we scale toward enterprise and platform-grade workloads. The methodologies you develop and tooling you build exist to multiply that delivery.

You'd join a new performance team as one of its first members, working alongside a deeply seasoned performance engineer, with the team growing to roughly six this year. There's no legacy process to inherit — you'll help define how performance engineering works at Supabase.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    - Find bottlenecks in live production systems and characterize them precisely enough that the owning team can act on them without you in the room.

    - Partner closely with database teams (e.g. Multigres, OrioleDB) and infra teams to land concrete performance improvements.

    - Build, communicate, and evolve performance methodologies and tooling that turn live production data into actionable insight.

    - Partner with the observability team to capture the right signals and establish a unified view of platform performance (latency, throughput, tail behavior) across products.

    - Help teams self-serve performance analysis and make performance a first-class engineering concern.

    PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT WORK ON

    - Tune the kernel's paging behavior to production workloads

    - Reduce memory overhead in OrioleDB and Multigres

    - Identify and eliminate sources of latency spikes from application to kernel level

    - Identify scalability bottlenecks across the entire stack and work the appropriate teams in Supabase and the wider community to resolve them

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    - Deep experience in performance engineering, specifically performance analysis of complex distributed systems.

    - You can walk the whole stack: follow a tail-latency problem from the query optimizer through the syscall boundary to the IO scheduler — or across pooler hops, network paths, and availability zones — reading profiles and traces at every layer.

    - Depth on at least one end of that stack: Linux kernel internals (virtual memory, scheduling, networking, IO) or database internals (query planning, storage engines, buffer and WAL management)

    - Strong working knowledge of networking and cloud infrastructure performance: TCP behavior under load, network virtualization overhead, and the performance characteristics of AWS primitives (EBS throughput and IOPS, instance network limits, placement groups, cross-AZ latency).

    - Proven ability to turn performance insights into real product and architecture improvements — including getting teams you don't belong to to prioritize and ship the fix.

    - Strong written communication: your problem characterisations are precise, reproducible, and compelling on their own.

    - Pragmatic, tooling-oriented mindset; comfort working across product, infra, and database teams.

    ABOUT SUPABASE

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.

    ABOUT THIS ROLE

We’re hiring experienced performance engineers to make performance measurement at Supabase rigorous, repeatable, and actionable by product teams. This role owns the benchmarking and profiling systems we use to detect regressions, explain performance changes, and publish credible numbers for customers and the market. You’ll build the tooling and the methodology and make it easy for product teams to use it correctly.

You’d join a new performance team as one of its first members, working alongside a deeply seasoned performance engineer, with the team growing to roughly six this year. There’s no legacy process to inherit — you’ll help define how we measure and communicate performance metrics at Supabase.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    - Build and evolve benchmarking, profiling, and load-testing tooling (cloud, database, and end-to-end).

    - Define benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real customer behavior (and evolve them as the products change).

    - Establish performance baselines and regression gates across products (variance tracking, environment control, and detection of changes).

    - Build mechanisms that turn benchmark results into action: triage workflows, owner routing, and clear, reproducible reports.

    - Partner closely with database teams (e.g. Multigres, OrioleDB) to identify bottlenecks and land concrete performance improvements.

    - Enable the company to publish credible, repeatable performance numbers for customers and the market.

    - Help teams self-serve performance testing and make performance a first-class engineering concern.

    PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT WORK ON

    - Build our continuous benchmarking infrastructure so product teams can spot performance regressions early. Ideally, teams can run benchmarks directly on PRs or locally while developing a feature.

    - Analyze and eliminate issues with load generators, workloads or benchmark environments to ensure that benchmarks are reliable indicators for actual product performance.

    - Build regression triage tooling that pinpoints what changed (diffing, profiles/traces, query-level attribution).

    - Help product teams so they can analyze the root cause of performance regressions in benchmark environments themselves.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    - Deep experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling of complex distributed systems. Specifically, you have owned benchmarking systems where reproducibility and controlling variance mattered.

    - Strong systems intuition (databases, storage, networking, cloud infrastructure).

    - Comfortable working across product, infra, and database teams.

    - Pragmatic, tooling-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

ABOUT SUPABASE Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth. ABOUT THIS ROLE We’re hiring experienced performance engineers to make performance measurement at Supabase rigorous, repeatable, and actionable by product teams. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Build and evolve benchmarking, profiling, and load-testing tooling (cloud, database, and end-to-end). PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT WORK ON - Build our continuous benchmarking infrastructure so product teams can spot performance regressions early.

We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst, Marketing to join our Data Intelligence team and build the measurement foundation that tells us what's actually working across paid and PLG channels. You'll work closely with Marketing, Growth, and channel owners, helping us move past platform-reported metrics and vanity numbers into causal, trusted answers about what drives pipeline and revenue.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments, is AI-forward in how they work, and is excited about building a measurement function from the ground up.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    Marketing Measurement Strategy

    - Own the end-to-end marketing measurement strategy across experimentation, media mix modeling, and attribution for paid and PLG channels

    - Establish and evolve the attribution framework: how platform data, multi-touch attribution, MMM, and experiments work together to inform decisions

    - Translate complex measurement outputs into clear recommendations on where to invest, what to cut, and how to hit pipeline, revenue, and efficiency targets (CAC, payback, LTV to CAC)

    - Serve as the subject matter expert for marketing measurement, educating stakeholders on causality, model uncertainty, and the limitations of platform-reported metrics

    Incrementality and Experimentation

    - Design and run always-on incrementality tests, user-level and geo-level, to quantify the causal impact of key channels, campaigns, and tactics

    - Calculate incremental lift, incrementality percent, and incremental ROAS/CPA, and use these to guide budget reallocation

    - Build repeatable analysis templates and playbooks for experiment design, analysis, and readouts so results are consistent across teams

    - Partner with channel owners (paid search, paid social, lifecycle, website/SEO) to build and prioritize a experimentation roadmap, embedding it into campaign planning, creative testing, and audience strategy

    Media Mix Modeling and Forecasting

    - Build and maintain media mix models using historical data to estimate channel contribution, marginal returns, and optimal budget allocation

    - Incorporate seasonality, adstock, and saturation effects, and continuously validate model performance through backtesting and reconciliation with experiment results

    - Turn MMM insights into budget scenarios and forecasts across channels and regions, communicated in a way non-technical stakeholders can act on

    Context, Tooling, and Data Integrity

    - Own and build the context and skills that let marketing teams run accurate self-serve analytics: metric definitions, model documentation, and reusable analysis patterns, not just dashboards

    - Use AI tools as a core part of daily work to accelerate analysis and go deeper than a traditional analyst workflow allows, and help establish AI-forward practices across the marketing org

    - Identify gaps and inconsistencies in marketing data (tracking, spend, platform exports) and work cross-functionally to fix them at the root rather than patching around them downstream

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    - Have 6+ years in marketing analytics, data science, or a related role, with a focus on performance marketing and/or PLG growth

    - Deeply understand marketing attribution, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling, and how they complement each other rather than compete

    - Are advanced in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (Python or R) for experiment analysis and modeling

    - Have hands-on experience designing, running, and interpreting experiments across digital marketing channels: search, social, display, email, in-product

    - Have built or worked closely with MMM and/or advanced attribution models, ideally in a consumption or BaaS environment

    - Have strong business acumen and fluency in growth metrics: CAC, LTV, payback period, conversion rates, funnel performance

    - Think in terms of self-service and scale: your instinct is to build tools and frameworks that make marketing teams independently capable, not to become the bottleneck for every "did this work" question

    - Can hold technical and strategic context at once: you're as comfortable in a model's residuals as you are in a conversation about budget tradeoffs

    - Are AI-forward in how you work: you use LLMs and AI tooling habitually and have a clear point of view on how it changes what an analyst can do

    - Communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders and know how to make causal nuance land in a business conversation

    - Thrive in async, autonomous environments and are energized by building a measurement function from the ground up

    Nice to Haves

    - Experience in BaaS, DevRel or open source dev tool companies, connecting marketing spend to pipeline and revenue outcomes

    - Experience with applied econometrics, time-series modeling, or Bayesian methods for MMM and experimentation

    - Familiarity with common marketing and analytics tools (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, web analytics, CDPs, BI/visualization tools)

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) Leader owns the health, direction, and performance of the Technical Account Management function. Where an individual TAM is the primary technical partner for their own portfolio of accounts, the TAM Leader is accountable for the entire TAM book — every account covered by the team, every partner relationship with a technical dimension, and the people who deliver against them.

The TAM Leader is both a player and a coach: they carry direct accountability for coverage decisions, escalation outcomes, and cross-functional alignment, while spending the majority of their time developing the individual TAMs so the team's proactive, relationship-first approach scales without becoming a response channel.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

The TAM Leader hires, coaches, and grows the TAM team so each member operates as a credible, proactive technical partner to their accounts. This includes:

    - Hiring and onboarding new TAMs, including running them through the TAM Path ramp

    - Running regular 1:1s, setting individual development plans, and giving direct feedback on account plans, QBRs, and escalation handling

    - Building and maintaining repeatable playbooks (upgrade runbooks, optimization playbooks, escalation patterns) so quality doesn't depend on tenure

    - Setting and holding the team to a consistent bar for technical depth, proactivity, and communication

    PORTFOLIO & COVERAGE OWNERSHIP

The TAM Leader owns the coverage model for the entire function — deciding, tracking, and refreshing who is assigned where, and closing gaps as they surface. This includes the two account universes the role is accountable for:

    - Named accounts — the full book currently ~$33.1M ARR across 120 accounts split across the team, capped at 20 accounts per TAM

    - Partner-mapped accounts — every partner with a named Technical Account Manager spanning Strategic AI, Growth, and Other tiers

    - Running the quarterly review/refresh of assigned accounts, rebalancing books as ARR and strategic relationships shift

    - Resolving open coverage gaps (e.g. regions or account types with no TAM alignment) and deciding when a controlled exception, a new hire, or a change in tier definition is the right fix

    - Approving leadership-discretion assignments and cap exceptions, and making the trim/reassign calls when an account is dropped for capacity

    CUSTOMER TECHNICAL OWNERSHIP (OVERSIGHT)

The TAM Leader ensures every assigned account — named or partner-mapped — has a clear, accountable technical owner. They spot-check account documentation, architecture understanding, and risk tracking across the book, and step in directly on the most strategic or highest-risk accounts.

    ONBOARDING AND ADOPTION (OVERSIGHT)

The TAM Leader ensures the team consistently shortens time to value for new accounts by:

    - Auditing that architecture and deployment validation is happening post-sale, not skipped

    - Coaching TAMs on configuration guidance and best-practice delivery

    - Tracking early success milestones across the portfolio, not just account by account

    PROACTIVE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE (OVERSIGHT)

The TAM Leader ensures environment reviews and risk/optimization surfacing happen on a regular cadence across the whole book, covering scalability, reliability, security, and lifecycle planning — and holds the team accountable when reviews lapse.

    ISSUE MANAGEMENT AND ESCALATION

The TAM Leader is the escalation layer above the individual TAM — brought in on complex, high-impact, or multi-stakeholder issues rather than replacing the TAM as primary contact. This includes:

    - Coordinating across support, engineering, and success during major incidents

    - Owning execution of the Named Account Escalation SLA sequence when it's triggered

    - Ensuring root cause analysis and preventative action actually close out, not just the immediate fire

    - Isolating TAMs from technical repair work so they can stay focused on the relationship while the right team handles the fix

    STRATEGIC TECHNICAL PLANNING (OVERSIGHT)

The TAM Leader ensures account plans across the book stay aligned to customer roadmaps, and personally engages on capacity, architecture, or growth planning for the largest or most strategic accounts and partners.

    INTERNAL COLLABORATION

    ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT

The TAM Leader represents the aggregated voice of the customer — patterns across accounts, not just one-off feedback — to engineering and product, and prioritizes which recurring pain points or gaps get pushed for a fix versus handled as one-offs.

    SUPPORT

The TAM Leader maintains the operating agreement between TAM and Support (TAMs are not frontline support) and is the point of escalation when that boundary needs adjudicating on a specific account.

    SALES AND CUSTOMER SUCCESS

The TAM Leader partners with Sales and Success leadership on account health and retention at the portfolio level — surfacing which accounts or partners are trending at risk, and where TAM coverage itself needs to change to protect NRR.

    PARTNERSHIPS

Because the TAM Leader owns the Technical Account Manager assignments inside the Partner Mappings, they work directly with each partner's Account Quarterback, Partner Manager, and Solutions Architect to make sure the technical relationship keeps pace with partner stage (Prospecting through Scaling) and tier (Strategic AI, Growth, Other) — while staying out of commercial terms, which live with the Partner Manager.

    SUCCESS METRICS

Common indicators of TAM Leader effectiveness include:

    - Coverage: % of the $33.1M+ named-account book and partner-mapped accounts with an assigned, active TAM

    - Team health: ramp time to productivity...

We are seeking a platform engineer to join our Compute Capacity team. This team owns the capacity plan that keeps compute supply ahead of demand across every region we operate in — the forecasting, buffer policy, and provisioning systems that make sure a project never runs into a wall it didn't know was there.

You'll work on the systems that turn a capacity plan into provisioned reality: reservation acquisition, fleet reconciliation, and the automation that keeps what we've committed to in sync with what we're actually running. You'll help build the metrics and alerting that let capacity problems surface months out, on vendor lead time, rather than at the moment someone needs the room.

You'll design, build, and operate systems that are both robust and highly automated — helping us hold the right buffer at the right cost, catch drift before it becomes a shortage, and give every team a single, trustworthy view of how much room we have across the millions of databases we manage.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    - Help build and maintain the capacity plan that keeps Supabase's compute supply ahead of demand across regions and instance families

    - Support buffer policy by modeling headroom targets and their cost tradeoffs for review and sign-off

    - Build and maintain automation that turns the capacity plan into provisioned reality — reservation acquisition and top-up, fleet reconciliation, drift detection between committed and running capacity

    - Extend our infrastructure as code for capacity-relevant provisioning

    - Instrument capacity: build and maintain metrics for saturation, reservation coverage, idle buffer, forecast error, and provisioning latency

    - Build and tune capacity alerting so headroom, quota, and reservation issues surface months out rather than at the moment of impact

    - Support the demand gate — helping intake large customer commitments, launches, migrations, and new regions so they reach the plan before they reach the fleet

    - Contribute to mitigation projects: right-sizing, instance-family migrations, autoscaling improvements, workload consolidation

    - Help drive down compute cost per database through right-sizing, placement, and commitment coverage work

    - Participate in capacity incident response and post-incident follow-through

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years across infrastructure engineering, SRE, platform, or capacity engineering, ideally at SaaS or cloud infrastructure scale

    - Have production software engineering experience — you've owned and operated a service, not just a notebook. Comfortable in modern languages like TypeScript, Python, and Go

    - Are comfortable working against forecasts and assumptions that are incomplete, and can revise your work as those assumptions change

    - Have experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi or Terraform)

    - Have built or maintained observability for systems you own — metrics that answer real questions and alerting people trust (Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar);

    - Have solid working knowledge of AWS EC2: instance families and generations, purchase options, capacity reservations, and quota mechanics

    - Have some financial fluency — you understand reservation economics and the basic tradeoffs between coverage, utilization, and cost

    - Communicate clearly across audiences, from engineers to finance stakeholders

ABOUT SUPABASE Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a platform engineer to join our Compute Capacity team. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR - Help build and maintain the capacity plan that keeps Supabase's compute supply ahead of demand across regions and instance families - Support buffer policy by modeling headroom targets and their cost tradeoffs for review and sign-off - Build and maintain automation that turns the capacity plan into provisioned reality — reservation acquisition and top-up, fleet reconciliation, drift detection between committed and running capacity - Extend our infrastructure as code for capacity-relevant provisioning - Instrument capacity: build and maintain metrics for saturation, reservation coverage, idle buffer, forecast error, and provisioning latency - Build and tune capacity alerting so headroom, quota, and reservation issues surface months out rather than at the moment of impact - Support the demand gate — helping intake large customer commitments, launches, migrations, and new regions so they reach the plan before they reach the fleet - Contribute to mitigation projects: right-sizing, instance-family migrations, autoscaling improvements, workload consolidation - Help drive down compute cost per database through right-sizing, placement, and commitment coverage work - Participate in capacity incident response and post-incident follow-through YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU - Have 5+ years across infrastructure engineering, SRE, platform, or capacity engineering, ideally at SaaS or cloud infrastructure scale - Have production software engineering experience — you've owned and operated a service, not just a notebook. Comfortable in modern languages like TypeScript, Python, and Go - Are comfortable working against forecasts and assumptions that are incomplete, and can revise your work as those assumptions change - Have experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi or Terraform) - Have built or maintained observability for systems you own — metrics that answer real questions and alerting people trust (Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar); - Have solid working knowledge of AWS EC2: instance families and generations, purchase options, capacity reservations, and quota mechanics - Have some financial fluency — you understand reservation economics and the basic tradeoffs between coverage, utilization, and cost - Communicate clearly across audiences, from engineers to finance stakeholders WHAT WE OFFER - Fully Remote We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world. - ESOP Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together. - Tech Allowance Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work. - Health Benefits Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. You know what needs to be done and when. - Professional Development Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

We’re building a high-performance CI/CD execution platform similar to runners used by tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, and Blacksmith CI. Our platform executes developer pipelines reliably at scale, integrates deeply with source control, and automates build, test, and deployment workflows.

In this role, you will design and build the distributed systems responsible for running CI/CD pipelines securely and efficiently. This includes orchestrating ephemeral compute environments, managing build isolation, scheduling jobs across fleets of workers, and ensuring reliability at scale.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and is excited about building developer tools that scale to millions.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    - Design and improve the core orchestration engine that manages the lifecycle of creating, merging, and rebasing Supabase Branches https://supabase.com/docs/guides/deployment/branching.

    - Provision ephemeral sandboxed execution environment on EKS / ECS for running untrusted build workloads from connected git repositories with securely managed secrets.

    - Implement job scheduling that scale to thousands of concurrent builds.

    - Optimize and reduce pipeline runtimes with caching, artifact storage, and dependency reuse.

    - Manage retry, timeout, cancellation, and failure-propagation logic to ensure pipelines behave predictably under failure conditions.

    - Instrument the full pipeline lifecycle with observability tooling to surface traces, metrics, and structured logs to the end user.

    - Develop configuration files (JSON / TOML) and integrations (Terraform / Pulumi) that allow teams to easily define, trigger, and inspect pipelines in code.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have strong software engineering skills (Go and Typescript required);

    - Have 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale;

    - Have cloud Infrastructure knowledge - familiarity with AWS constructs is required, past experience using the AWS SDKs and IaC tools (Pulumi, Terraform, etc) to build and operate infrastructure is strongly preferred.

    - Have a production operations mindset - track record of building reliable, observable, and maintainable systems

    - Have an ownership mindset - you thrive in being able to operate independently with high-level guidance

    - Communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences

    - Have experience in async or globally distributed teams

    - Are energized by solving real-world problems for developers

    - Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly

    WHAT WE OFFER

    - Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    - ESOP

Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Billing team at Supabase. Billing owns the monetization and revenue systems that turn platform usage into accurate customer charges and finance-ready revenue data. The team’s scope includes plans, subscriptions, usage-based billing, invoices, payments, credits, coupons, taxation, dunning, collections, pricing mechanics, entitlements, marketplace and partner billing paths, and integrations with providers such as Stripe and Orb.

Billing sits at the intersection of engineering, product, finance, data, support, and partnerships. The systems are revenue-critical and trust-critical: they must remain correct, predictable, supportable, observable, and extensible as Supabase grows and introduces new products, pricing models, and partner channels.

This is a people, delivery, and technical leadership role. We don’t expect managers to contribute production code directly, but we do expect you to participate in architecture and design discussions, challenge plans with sound technical reasoning, and set a high bar for correctness, reliability, and operational maturity.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    Team & People

    - Build a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

    - Run 1:1s, performance management, career development, and onboarding for your direct reports.

    - Coach engineers working across backend application code, data pipelines, external integrations, and operational workflows.

    - Build durable ownership across the team so critical billing knowledge, access, and incident response do not depend on one person.

    - Handle people administration, including leave and time off, for your team.

    Hiring

    - Own the hiring plan for the Billing team and act as Hiring Manager and first-round interviewer for roles on the team.

    - Partner with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close strong candidates with the right mix of billing-domain depth and engineering judgment.

    - Contribute to headcount planning, org design, and the evolution of engineering leadership at Supabase.

    Delivery, Roadmap & Partnerships

    - Own the Billing roadmap and project management in Linear, driving accountability, clear milestones, and predictable delivery.

    - Balance new pricing and product capabilities with investments in system correctness, resilience, supportability, and technical debt.

    - Manage workflow intake and Slack triage, deciding what should be routed, prioritized, sequenced, or pushed back on.

    - Own weekly updates and keep stakeholders aligned without creating unnecessary overhead.

    - Surface risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and revenue or customer-impact concerns early and clearly to leadership.

    Incident Commander

    - Train as an Incident Commander and lead coordination, resolution, customer-impact assessment, and post-incident follow-up.

    - Lead blameless post-incident reviews.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years of engineering background, with enough depth to be credible with engineers building complex systems.

    - Have 3+ years managing remote engineering teams.

    - Have managed a billing engineering team at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company. Experience with developer tools or databases is a strong preference, but we'll consider any sufficiently technical background where you can demonstrate the ability to ramp on a new domain.

    - Have managed remote, globally distributed teams that work asynchronously across disparate time zones.

    - Are technical enough to be credible with strong engineers, but genuinely passionate about people management. This is the work you want to do, not a track you're settling for.

    - Build psychological safety and a feedback culture: you give feedback often and in the moment, ask for it back, and create space for the team to do the same.

    - Operate as a multiplier. Focused on helping individuals achieve more than they could alone, not on being the best technical voice in the room.

    - Coach rather than direct. Remove blockers, connect people to context and resources, and trust your engineers to own how the work gets done.

    - Have a real track record of performance management and can speak to specific examples of difficult conversations and how you navigated them.

    - Are comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building structure where there isn't much.

    - Communicate clearly and write well. You're default async, default written, set context proactively, and surface risks early.

    - Are collaborative, low-ego, and adaptable. You thrive working with high-autonomy, senior ICs who have strong technical opinions and don't need to be the smartest person in the room.

RELEVANT BILLING DOMAIN & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

You should bring experience across most of the following areas:

    - Subscription lifecycle and monetization mechanics: plans and packaging, billing cycles, upgrades and downgrades, proration, upfront and in-arrears charges, add-ons, credits, coupons, discounts, refunds, taxes, dunning, collections, disputes, and chargebacks.

    - Usage-based billing at scale: converting raw product and infrastructure telemetry into billable usage; defining meters and dimensions; applying quotas and pricing; handling late-arriving data; and supporting deterministic reruns, backfills, and reconciliation.

    - Payments and billing-provider integrations: production experience with Stripe, Orb, or comparable providers, including APIs, webhooks, invoice lifecycle, payment failures, event ingestion, sync engines, rate limits, provider SLAs, and graceful degradation during outages.

    - Entitlements and pricing enforcement: separating feature access from charging, managing plan defaults and customer-speci...

    About Supabase

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.

    About the Role

We're looking for a FinOps Engineer to help drive cost optimization and cloud financial governance across our AWS infrastructure and GCP footprint. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Product to find and ship savings, build the tooling necessary to maximize efficiency of every dollar spent in the cloud, and cultivate a culture of cost awareness across engineering teams.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not an analyst seat. You'll do the schlep work other teams don't have time for, digging into a bucket's access pattern, writing the Terraform or Lambda that ships the fix, working on a product feature chasing a number until it reconciles, and influencing product decisions when cost to reliability tradeoffs hit. Strong communication matters as much as technical depth, you'll regularly explain a savings case to an engineering team, a finance stakeholder, and a leadership audience in the same week.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    In this role, you'll:

    - Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP: Analyze billing, usage, and cost trends to identify opportunities, rightsizing, storage lifecycle policies, data transfer, and spot/auto-scaling. Take ideas from identification through to a realized dollar figure, not just a recommendation.

    - Build and maintain cost attribution: Tagging policies, cost allocation, and chargeback/showback so engineering teams can see and own their own spend. This is foundational work other savings work depends on.

    - Automate cost governance: Build automated cost reporting, anomaly detection, and alerting. Write the scripts and infrastructure-as-code (Python, Terraform, Lambda) that enforce cost policy rather than relying on manual review.

    - Partner with engineering on architecture decisions: Bring cost into the room early, cost-efficiencies are cheaper to get right at design than to retrofit.

    - Work with Finance on forecasting and reporting: Support budget tracking and financial KPIs; build dashboards engineering and finance can both read.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    - Have strong AWS expertise and working GCP knowledge, including pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics.

    - Have automation and scripting skills: Python, Terraform/ pulumi, Lambda, or Bash

    - Are comfortable with cost/billing tooling: AWS Cost Explorer, Cost & Usage Reports, GCP Billing Reports, and BI/dashboarding (we use Hex).

    - Have experience with, or are comfortable picking up, Linear and Notion as the system of record for tracking and documenting FinOps work.

    - Experience with a dedicated cloud cost management platform (e.g. CloudZero, Vantage, or similar) is a plus, not required.

    - Can analyze cost data and present it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    - Have prior experience in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance role.

    - Are energized by doing the unglamorous, high-leverage work (the schlep) that unblocks other teams, and by working cross-functionally without positional authority.

We are looking for a Head of AI Operations to own how Supabase works.

Supabase is building an AI-native internal operating system: a common way of working across the company where AI carries a meaningful share of the operational load rather than sitting alongside it as an assistant. We are standing up a new central team to build those systems, enable the teams, and embed AI operations throughout the organization. This is the role that runs it.

You will own the maturity model teams are assessed against, the standards that define how work happens here, and the operating cadence, under one design rule: every recurring meeting has to justify why an automated report cannot replace it. You will lead a small team of senior individual contributors, one building the platform and one running enablement.

The premise is that process encoded as agents scales where process enforced by people does not. Your job is to prove that is a repeatable pattern rather than an anomaly, across teams you have no authority over.

We are fully remote and async. The document is the enforcement mechanism here, which means the standards themselves are your deliverable.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    In this role, you'll:

    - Own the maturity model end to end: The rubric, the scoring method, the evidence standard, and the appeals path. Every team ends up with a published assessment and a written plan to its next level.

    - Run assessments and commitments: Conduct assessments with department heads yourself, landing them as commitments with named owners and dates rather than opinions.

    - Own the standards layer: Define how work gets tracked, decisions get proposed and resolved, teams migrate onto shared tooling, and stale documentation gets retired. Standards ship as documents teams follow without being chased.

    - Fix the decision process: Ensure written proposals reach resolution instead of accumulating unresolved by defining stages, exit criteria, and closing mechanisms.

    - Run the operating cadence: Lead automated weekly reporting, a regular blockers-and-decisions forum, a monthly leadership review, and a quarterly board-level format. Delete meetings a report could replace.

    - Manage rollouts: Execute private assessments first so leads see only their own and have time to move, followed by a pre-committed public transparency date.

    - Wire standards into onboarding: Ensure every cohort arrives pre-trained rather than inheriting nearby habits.

    - Build and direct the team: Hire, grow, review, and direct two senior individual contributors (platform and enablement) without doing their work for them.

    - Measure and publish outcomes: Measure and publish whether the thesis holds by tracking how much coordination work agents absorb versus what a human program office would cost.

    HOW YOU'LL THINK

    RECURSIVE THINKING

Every standard you write should be the input to something that enforces it, and every enforcement mechanism should produce the evidence that grades it. When you write the rule that work must carry a current status, you are not finished until a report finds the stale items and tells their owners without you in the loop. The same applies to your own function: the team you build gets assessed by the model you own, published next to everyone else's, and you should want that.

    INVERSION THINKING

The default outcome for a company-wide standard is that teams politely ignore it. So the first question about any standard is not "is this correct" but "what will make people route around this," and the design follows from that answer. Same for meetings: rather than asking what a new sync would accomplish, ask what report would make it unnecessary and build the report. Same for the public transparency date: it gets committed before anyone has a score to defend, because afterwards the lobbying is rational.

    AI-NATIVE EXECUTION

You direct agents rather than doing the work by hand, and you can tell whether the direction was any good. That means reading an agent workflow definition and knowing the procedure is too broad, reading a data model and challenging the metric behind it, reading a pull request from your own team and sending it back. Your working artifacts are files in version control that agents can read, not chat transcripts. You will not build the platform. You will be the person who says whether what got built is right.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    MUST HAVE

    - Scale & Cadence Experience: Have run operating cadence and program discipline at a company crossing ~200 to 800 people while remote and async.

    - Agentic AI Expertise: Have personally built agentic AI workflows that others depended on. You can read/review an agent workflow definition, a data model, and a pull request to judge quality.

    - Standard Adoption Track Record: Have taken a standard from zero to company-wide without direct authority over adopters, with a clear mechanism that made it stick.

    - Async Communication Skills: Are an exceptional writer who leverages documents as enforcement mechanisms.

    - Accountability: Are comfortable being graded publicly by the system you build alongside every other team.

    STRONG SIGNAL

    - Have run a maturity model or capability assessment across teams you did not own, published results, and driven organizational reallocations.

    - Are native to Git, Markdown, and Pull Requests (whether through engineering or technical operations background).

    - Have permanently eliminated a recurring meeting by replacing it with an automated system.

    - Deep software engineering background is a plus, but not required.

    WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

    - Standards land without chasing: Rules are written, published, wired into onboarding, and followed bec...

We're looking for a Postgres Deployment Engineer to join our team and elevate our PostgreSQL offerings.

You'll work hand-in-hand with the PostgreSQL team and play an instrumental role in technical decision-making and refining internal methodologies.

The focus of this role is around owning stability and deployment of our products. This role involves ongoing contribution and co-responsibility for builds/deployments via our public supabase/postgres GitHub repository. This repository bundles an array of features/products into docker images and AWS AMIs, giving users the ability to run Supabase on our cloud and locally. This role will function has developed as a bridge between product and infrastructure teams to improve the reliability of product deployments and upgrades.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

    - Packaging software into our supabase/postgres https://github.com/supabase/postgres repo to using either nix language with flakes, or debian packaging depending on our required target

    - Supporting the expansion of knowledge in Supabase toward our platform release system so that developers can self service more and more over time.

    - Expanding on our github actions, our team tooling, and our testing/release approaches

    - Timely PostgreSQL major, minor, and extension upgrades.

    - Engaging in proactive identification and resolution of production issues in customer deployments.

    - Contributing to the creation/maintaining of best practices, tools, and tests to ensure enhanced stability and decreased deployment risks over time.

    What we need

This role demands the following pivotal qualities:

    1. PostgreSQL Expert: A profound understanding of PostgreSQL and its associated tools. Familiarity with extensions, performance optimization, and best practices is essential.

    2. Infrastructure: Proven expertise in infrastructure management, tooling, and optimization.

    3. Self-directed & Initiative: At Supabase, we value independence and proactive problem-solving. We anticipate you to be a dynamic self-starter, thriving in asynchronous collaboration across diverse teams. Your knack for spotting areas of improvement and commitment to realizing those enhancements will be key.

    What you’ll do

    - Improve the utility and efficiency of our PostgreSQL offerings.

    - Work with relevant teams to understand the issues around postgres stability, and apply those insights to the build/test/deploy AMI and Docker releases.

    - Contribute to the enhancement of our public GitHub repositories, especially supabase/postgres https://github.com/supabase/postgres.

    - Develop and expand tooling and solutions within the Supabase ecosystem.

    - Engage with customers routinely, ensuring our solutions resonate with their needs.

    - Address and resolve GitHub and Support issues.

    Must haves

    - 3+ years experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem.

    - Knowledge of ansible, Nix package management system (including nix flakes), packer, docker, qemu/kvm, aws, and kubernetes deployments is essential. Need experience with linux and darwin/macos aarch64 targets, as we maintain ability to build for both architectures

    - Must have experience with conventional and nix-packaged builds of C/C++, Go, javascript, and Rust based projects

    - Exposure to public cloud platforms and deployment methodologies.

    - Eagerness to improve and expand our development tools/stack.

    - Comfortable with regular interactions with customers

    - Willingness to work on an “integrated” system and approach to packaging. For many reasons, we cannot apply nix packaging to every component in our stack, nor can we just adopt Nixos in production. We have successfully laid the foundation for integrating conventional and Nix-based systems, with carefully validated choices including using flakes, etc. So, you must be willing to work within and help optimize this paradigm toward our platform development.

    - Must be willing to take on co-responsibility for teaching our engineering team to learn, use and contribute to our Nix-based work, and help troubleshoot and solve issues around the whole platform/postgres stack.

    Nice to haves

    - Experience with PostgREST, gotrue/supabase auth, and other Supabase stack components.

    - Contributions to significant, open-source projects in the PostgreSQL domain.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    - Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    - Professional Development

Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

We're hiring a Product Manager for Supabase Auth https://supabase.com/docs/guides/auth. You'll own the surface area that developers use to authenticate and authorize their end users and manage identity in their apps: email, phone and social login, passkeys and MFA https://supabase.com/docs/guides/auth/auth-mfa, enterprise SSO, the OAuth 2.1 server https://supabase.com/docs/guides/auth/oauth-server, auth hooks, and support for organizations and multi-tenant applications.

You'll work closely with the Auth engineering team and with partners across Product Management, Security, Design and GTM.

This role is ideal for someone who’s excited about building tools for millions of developers and who has a strong understanding of existing and emerging authentication practices and protocols.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    - You'll collaborate with customers of all sizes and expertise levels. Indie developers shipping a side project, startups choosing their first auth stack, SaaS teams designing multi-tenant access, and enterprises in security review.

    - You'll own the problem statements and solution rationale behind the Auth roadmap. This means working with Engineering and Design to shape how Supabase crafts the developer experience for the problems you’ve prioritized solving.

    - You'll define how Auth works for AI agents on Supabase: agents that sign users up, act on their behalf, and call APIs.

    - You'll use data to understand how Supabase developers are using Auth features: where they succeed, where they get stuck, and what to tackle first.

    - You'll keep Engineering, Design and GTM aligned. You'll own the plan of record for what's coming, why, and in what order.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    MUST HAVE

    - 5+ years of Product Management experience on developer tools, or are an ex-founder with equivalent depth. You're comfortable commenting on an architecture doc, following a design discussion, and advocating for the user when trade-offs are required.

    - Have shipped standards-based auth or identity products. You've owned OAuth/OIDC, SAML, SCIM, sessions or token design, and you know from experience where each one breaks for customers.

    - Work comfortably with corporate buyers and with developers. You can work through a CISO's security review and an indie developer's bug report in the same week. You have intuition on which enterprise asks are real value-adding requirements and which are checkbox items.

    - Are comfortable with Postgres and familiar with row-level security.

    - Work async by default. Supabase is fully remote. You make decisions in writing and move work forward without meetings.

    STRONG SIGNAL

    - Owned auth or identity inside an integrated cloud platform.

    - Ran an organizations, tenancy, or SSO+SCIM launch from start to finish.

    - Designed auth for agents or other automated systems: OAuth for MCP clients, machine-to-machine credentials, scoped tokens.

    - Shipped something using Supabase.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Cloud Platform Engineer at Supabase, you’ll join Cloud Engineering, part of Engineering Operations, and shape the foundations that let engineering teams build, ship, and operate infrastructure safely and independently across AWS and GCP.

This is a role spanning cloud governance, platform engineering, and hands-on operations. You’ll work across AWS and GCP account structure, identity and access management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), reusable platform primitives, security boundaries, and self-service workflows for engineers.

You’ll be joining at a point where many of these foundations are being actively defined or reworked. We’re looking for someone who can take ambiguous, messy, business-critical infrastructure problems and turn them into pragmatic systems, tools, standards, and written guidance that scale with the company and empower teams to go faster.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    - Designing and implementing cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including identity, account organization, access controls, and guardrails.

    - Building reusable infrastructure and building blocks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enabling teams to provision and manage infrastructure safely and consistently.

    - Creating self-service capabilities that reduce organizational friction and let engineers move more quickly within sensible boundaries.

    - Owning resource governance and visibility: management tagging, a trustworthy inventory of what exists and who owns it, and consistent cross-account billing data.

    - Developing reusable security primitives, including secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, token vending, direct service-to-service authentication, mTLS, and related platform services.

    - Owning cloud-level network and operational primitives: IP address management, DNS, and health signals such as service-limit and quota alerting.

    - Combining software engineering with hands-on operations and total ownership: building, deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving what you own.

    - Establishing and sharing cloud engineering best practices through documentation, internal tooling, examples, and enablement.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    - Have 5+ years of experience in cloud governance, platform engineering, and/or operations, have operated production systems at scale, and carried on-call for them.

    - Have previously undertaken a significant migration, e.g. rearchitected an AWS account topology, introduced IaC for existing infrastructure, centralized identity/SSO, or brought a second cloud under governance.

    - Enjoy building internal platform and self-service experiences for other engineers.

    - Are genuinely deep in at least one—ideally two—of the three strength areas below (and tell us which is your center of gravity):

    - Tooling & ecosystem: You’re intimately familiar with the breadth of AWS services in general, and IAM/SSO in particular. You know their Well-Architected Framework, and when to reach outside. You have working knowledge of GCP. You use IaC routinely and have run it in production, whichever tool. You’ve probably collaborated with auditors on meeting compliance requirements.

    - Software engineering: You write real production code (Go, Rust, or a comparable systems language), and can build reliable, maintainable services. You thrive across all stages of the SDLC, set technical direction, know how to de-risk projects, and produce written artifacts such as RFCs.

    - Operations: You’ve run production infrastructure yourself: carried the pager, written the alerts and runbooks, used SLOs or similar to decide what to fix first, and made shared systems less risky over time. You like owning systems, simplifying complex infrastructure problems, and turning best practices into reusable building blocks.

    - Are comfortable treating infrastructure as software and have relevant experience with IaC and automation.

    - Communicate clearly, work with a wide range of stakeholders, and thrive in async, globally distributed teams.

    - Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems over time.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    - Fully Remote

We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

    - ESOP

    ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a platform engineer to join our Compute team. This team owns the critical systems that power project provisioning, scaling, and the compute that our users rely on every day.

You’ll work on the core platform that ensures Supabase can seamlessly scale
across multiple regions, handle high-volume workloads, and provide
    low-latency, highly available compute services.

You'll design, build, and operate systems that are both robust and highly
automated — enabling us to provision new projects reliably at scale,
optimize resource utilization, and deliver a seamless experience to the
millions of databases which we manage.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    - Help build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering;

    - Design and implement systems to provision, scale, and manage the multi-region compute workloads powering Supabase projects;

    - Own the full lifecycle of compute orchestration: project creation, warm pools, autoscaling, resizing, and resource optimization;

    - Improve automation and observability across the compute stack to ensure high availability and performance;

    - Improve our system architecture to reduce costs while balancing security, reliability, and performance;

    - Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to help leverage compute as a core platform offering;

    - Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews;

    - Resolve escalated support issues, while also identifying and resolving systemic issues across the platform.

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

    - Have strong software engineering skills (Go and Typescript required);

    - Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale;

    - Have 5+ years experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS required, additional experience with GCP and Azure is a plus) - particularly compute, networking, and storage services;

    - Have 3+ years experience working with building custom Kubernetes controllers, and operating large-scale (tens-to-hundreds of thousands of pods) clusters;

    - Are knowledgable about networking and multi-region infrastructure design;

    - Are familiar with Postgres;

    - Have experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Pulumi highly preferred, Terraform/CDK etc acceptable)

    - Have experience working with QEMU, KVM, and NAS is a plus;

    - Have experience with being part of on-call rotations for large production system;
