Best public space in Nairobi: Uhuru Park, Karura, Arboretum, or somewhere else?

Green and open spaces give Nairobians room to relax, exercise, take photos and spend time with family. Which public space is your favourite, what do you do there, and what would make it even better? Let others discover a new place for the weekend.

Karura, every time. I go on Saturday mornings to walk or cycle, the air is different and you forget there is traffic outside. There is an entry fee, but it is worth it. What would make it better is cheaper or free entry days for students.

The Arboretum is underrated. It is quiet, shaded, and good for a picnic or a long phone call away from noise. I'd love more benches and clean toilets, then it would be perfect for families.

Uhuru Park for me, because it is right next to town and free. After work you can sit by the lake and watch the city lights come on. It needs more security in the evening so more people feel comfortable staying a bit longer.
