Driver Dira HR Solutions Driver & Transport Services Job summary To provide safe, reliable, and confidential transport services for the organization's staff and program participants, including survivors of trafficking in high-risk cases, applying defensive driving practices, safeguarding principles, and sound judgement of Kenya's road and security dynamics. The role is engaged on an independent contractor basis Job descriptions & requirements 1. Transport & Driving Services ● Provide safe, reliable, and timely transport for the organization's staff and program participants, including survivors of trafficking, between shelters/safehouses, service providers, government offices, courts, and other designated locations . ● Apply defensive driving techniques at all times to anticipate hazards and minimise risk to passengers, particularly when transporting survivors from or through high-risk locations 2. Safeguarding, Confidentiality & Survivor-Centered Conduct ● Uphold safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and a survivor-centred approach at all times when transporting survivors of trafficking, particularly those in high-risk cases. ● Maintain strict confidentiality regarding passengers' identities, case details, movements routes travelled, and shelter/safehouse locations; never disclose such information to unauthorized persons. 3. Security Awareness, Risk Management & Route Planning● Maintain up-to-date awareness of high-risk areas, insecure routes, and security dynamics across Kenya's road network, adjusting travel plans and timing accordingly . ● Guide and advise passengers on precautionary safety measures to take before, during and after movement, especially when accessing services or moving through or from high-risk locations. ● Remain alert to potential security threats (e.g. suspicious vehicles or persons, being followed) during transport, and take appropriate evasive or precautionary action Person Specification – Qualifications, Skills & Experience ● Valid Kenyan driving licence with a clean record, and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct. ● Demonstrated defensive driving experience/certification, with a strong safety record. ● Broad, practical knowledge of Kenya's road networks and the security dynamics of different roads, routes, and areas at different times of day. ● Prior experience driving in sensitive, humanitarian, or protection-related settings is an added advantage. ● Understanding of, and commitment to, safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and ethical standards when working with vulnerable populations, including survivors of trafficking. ● Highly disciplined, professional, and reliable, with excellent timekeeping. ● Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and reassuring in high-risk or high-stress situations. ● Willingness and ability to be smart-casually/professionally dressed at all times. ● Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours as required, including early mornings evenings, or emergencies.
