Job Purpose
The Security Guard safeguards the office premises, staff, visitors, and assets, while being the friendly, welcoming presence visitors first encounter at the door.
Key Responsibilities
Security Management
• Guard office premises and assets against theft, damage, and unauthorised access.
• Conduct regular patrols of the office premises.
• Monitor and report any suspicious activity.
Visitor Management
• Receive visitors courteously at the door.
• Take and record visitor details accurately at the point of entry.
• Verify appointments where applicable and direct visitors to the right office or officer.
Safety and Emergency Response
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and security incidents.
• Report incidents promptly to management.
• Support implementation of office safety procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
• KCSE certificate or equivalent.
• Prior security experience preferred.
• A security training certificate is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
• Friendly, welcoming personality — comfortable being the first point of contact at the door.
• Integrity and professionalism.
• Good observation skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good communication skills.
