With deep roots in South Africa’s championship golf landscape and a dedicated operational office in Nairobi, the company designs unique itineraries that pair world-class golf with iconic wildlife and beach experiences across East and Southern Africa. Ascot Tours also champions social impact through its Golfing for Change initiative, supporting food security, conservation, and community golf development. The company’s mission is to make selling luxury African travel easy, confident, and seamless for its travel agent partners.
Role Description The Luxury Travel Expert is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing and selling bespoke, high-end golf and safari itineraries across Africa for travel agent partners. This role involves consulting with agents to understand client preferences, crafting customized itineraries, preparing accurate quotations, and managing bookings from initial inquiry through to post-travel follow-up. Day-to-day tasks include researching and curating luxury accommodations, golf courses, safari experiences, and add-on activities; coordinating with on-the-ground operations teams and suppliers; and ensuring every trip reflects Ascot Tours’ standards of quality and service. The Luxury Travel Expert will also maintain detailed client and booking records, respond promptly to agent requests, and contribute insights to improve products, processes, and training materials for partners.
Qualifications
• Experience in luxury travel consulting or tour operating, ideally with high-end leisure or golf/safari travel; proven track record in tailoring complex itineraries.
• Strong destination knowledge of Africa (especially South Africa and East Africa), or demonstrated ability and motivation to quickly develop deep regional expertise.
• Excellent communication and client service skills, including the ability to build trust with travel agents, manage expectations, and respond quickly and professionally in writing and on calls.
• Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple inquiries, bookings, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfort with remote work, including proficiency in common digital tools (CRM systems, booking platforms, email, video calls) and the ability to work independently and reliably.
• Experience with pricing, quotations, and margin management in a B2B travel environment; strong numerical literacy and ability to present clear, transparent costs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, product, and supplier partners; openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Passion for golf, wildlife, and conservation or a strong interest in learning these domains, with sensitivity to diverse cultures
