• Ensure loans are repaid as per the loan agreement using efficient, effective and fair debt recovery procedures, maintaining Portfolio at Risk below 5% and minimising bad-debt losses.
• Follow up on non-performing loans through calls, emails and text messages.
• Manage direct debits: extract from loan forms, process and submit to banks, reconcile monthly, follow up and report.
• Manage check-off: send check-off advice and clearance letters to members and employers, follow up and report.
• Communicate and issue default notices as per policy.
• Attend to member inquiries relating to their accounts.
• Refund guarantors where defaulters have made payments.
• Process invoices from debt collectors and other recovery service providers.
• Prepare periodic reports on delinquent loans and accounts.
• Verify member information, documents and bank statements during loan assessment.
• Enforce the tier system on deposit contributions and handle guarantor substitution per policy.
• Any other lawful duties as may be assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Credit Administration, Co-operative Management or a related field.
• CPA Finalist or Certified Credit Professional (CCP).
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in credit management, in a similar position.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
• Negotiation, persuasion and strong business communication skills.
• Credit monitoring, portfolio management and risk awareness.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and word-processing skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving and records-management skills.
• High integrity, emotional intelligence and good interpersonal skills.
