• Coordinating the training of functional assessment officers and teaching of functional assessment subjects
• Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good citizenship within the Division
• Lead in the implementation of quality management system and risk management strategies with regard to sound financial management system within the Division
• Coordinating the assessment of children with special needs and disabilities
• Referring children assessed to service provision points
• Guide on the placement of children with special needs and disabilities in educational programmes
• Initiate functional assessment training for assessment staff
• Monitor Identification and placement of children with special needs and disabilities in schools and institutions
• Coordinate awareness creation, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities
• Coordinating community outreach services to create sensitization awareness on disabilities
• Spearhead the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of a robust performance management system within the Division by providing oversight of the delivery of the annual performance contract and the strategic plan
• Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Principal Assessor or in acomparable position;
• Bachelors Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Masters Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing
• Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution
