• Develop comprehensive project budgets, cost plans, and financial projections to guide execution.
• Taking-off and measurement from drawings and project documents.
• Preparation of cost estimates, tender documents and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Support the tendering process, including Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for suppliers and subcontractors
• Participate in tender evaluation, contractor selection and drafting of subcontract agreements.
• Preparation of interim applications, including completed work, items on site, and subcontractors, and timely submission to the Client.
• Manage construction contractual documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare weekly and periodic project reports detailing cost performance, budget utilization, commitments, and forecasts.
• Identify cost overruns, budget variances, and financial risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Process payment certificates in line with contractual agreements as well as prepare and finalize project accounts upon completion.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients on cost matters.
• Monitor and track project expenditures, labour, material usage against approved budgets to ensure financial control
• Attend progress meetings when required and perform any other duties or tasks assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ hands - on experience in the Construction Industry
• Membership of a professional body i.e. Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK)/Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or both.
• Knowledge of construction processes and cost management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical, problem solving and coordination skills.
• High level of integrity, reliability and attention to detail.
