• Assist drone pilots with daily flight preparation and field setup.
• Acts as secondary spotter and relay operators to the drone pilots.
• Support pre-flight and post-flight checks of drones, batteries, controllers, and accessories.
• Assist with setting up take-off and landing areas.
• Act as a field assistant/visual observer during drone missions where required.
• Support pilots during pond mapping, monitoring, photography, transport, and other approved drone missions.
• Assist in maintaining safe operating areas around drone launch and landing zones.
• Follow established drone SOPs and instructions from the Drone Team Manager and pilots.
• Transfer drone photographs, videos, and other captured data after missions.
• Organize files according to the team’s approved naming and storage procedures.
• Upload and maintain drone operational records in the designated systems.
• Assist with maintaining flight logs and mission records.
• Support basic data organization for mapping and analysis activities.
• Assist with routine cleaning and inspection of drone equipment.
• Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the pilot responsible or Drone Team Manager.
• Assist in maintaining battery records and equipment inventories.
• Support the team in keeping drone equipment properly stored and organized.
• Assist with routine preventive maintenance activities as directed.
• Follow all drone safety procedures and operational instructions.
• Support compliance with applicable KCAA requirements and Victory Farms drone aviation procedures.
• Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, equipment damage, or operational risks.
• Maintain confidentiality and responsible handling of operational data.
• Participate in safety briefings and operational training.
• Coordinate respectfully with farm teams during drone activities.
• Assist in communicating planned drone activities to relevant field teams.
• Support scheduling and preparation of field missions.
• Work effectively with pilots, data personnel, farm teams, and other departments.
• Demonstrate punctuality, teamwork, accountability, and willingness to learn.
• KCSE / High School Diploma.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to use email and basic file management tools.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to learn drone operations and technology.
