Story

The new changes followed CoG's full council meeting held on Monday in Nairobi.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has been elected the new chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG).

Njuki was elected on Monday, October 12, during a full council meeting held at a hotel in Nairobi.

He succeeds Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, who has served two terms at the helm of the council.

Njuki, who previously served as CoG vice chairperson, will lead the council for an initial term of one year.

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka was elected as his deputy and will also serve a one-year term.

Both Njuki and Lusaka are eligible for re-election for a further one-year term.
