Authorities have officially called off the search and rescue operation at the site of an 18-storey building that collapsed along 9th Street in Nairobi's Eastleigh area.
The multi-agency operation, which began on October 23, lasted 15 days and ended with eight bodies recovered and four people rescued alive.
However, three people who were initially reported missing remain unaccounted for, with no additional bodies recovered on the final day of the exercise.
Nairobi North County Commissioner Simon Osumba announced the decision, explaining that rescue teams had exhausted all accessible sections of the building, including its basement compartments where some victims were believed to be trapped.
