The South African has recalled Qatar-based Michael Olunga, who has not played for the national team since last year, as well as Czech-based Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma who has only just returned to action for Rakow Czechostowa after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that has kept him on the sidelines for over a year.
Gor Mahia captain Chris Alpha Onyango, who has topscored for K’Ogalo with four goals in the new season, has missed out on a place in McCarthy’s midfield.
Instead, McCarthy has maintained trust in France-based Manzur Okwaro, while recalling Alwyn Tera — who recently skippered Armenian side Ararat in the Europa League.
Also holding down a place in the middle of the park is England-based Henry Ochieng’ and Wrexham’s Zak Vyner who seems to have finally answered McCarthy’s call to put on the Kenyan colours.
