The Linda Mwananchi Movement has criticised Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot over his remarks to concerns raised by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna over the state of roads in Kwale County.
Sifuna had shared photographs highlighting the deteriorating condition of roads in the coastal county, drawing a response from Cheruiyot, who told him, “Tandika Katiba upite juu,” loosely translated as “Spread the Constitution and drive over it.”
Cheruiyot’s remarks attracted criticism from Linda Mwananchi Head of Communications Pauline Njoroge, who accused the senator of displaying arrogance towards constitutional provisions meant to address inequalities in service delivery across the country.
In a statement on Monday, November 2, Njoroge argued that the Constitution provides for the Equalisation Fund, which was established to improve access to basic services in marginalised areas.
