Deputy President Kithure Kindiki departed Nairobi for Antigua and Barbuda to represent President William Ruto at the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
In a statement on Sunday, November 1, Kindiki said the meeting is scheduled to take place from November 1 to 4 in St John's.
Kindiki said Kenya would use the high-level diplomatic gathering to advance its national interests, strengthen international partnerships and promote itself as an attractive destination for foreign investment.
"Kenya will use this forum to advance its strategic national interests and to project the country as a stable investment destination," he wrote.
Kindiki said the meeting would also offer Kenya an opportunity to strengthen its diplomatic and economic networks across the Commonwealth.
"Kenya will use this forum to advance its networking with the Commonwealth’s 56 member states with a combined population of 2.7 billion people spread in Africa, Asia, the Carribean and Europe," he added.
